About the role: This role will be working for our Mars ​Champion​ Petfoods segment, ​where we make life better for pets and their owners.​ The Shopper Marketing Manager leads retailer-focused activation across Australia, and will expand focus to include APAC in year 2, turning brand strategies into compelling in-store, online, and retail media experiences that drive visibility, conversion, and growth for ORIJEN and ACANA.

Role Title: APAC Shopper Marketing Manager
Location: Melbourne, also open to Wodonga with regular travel to Melbourne
Hours: Full-time, Permanent – hybrid working

Reporting to: Market Strategy & Deployment Director

What you’ll do:

  • Lead customer marketing activation by developing tailored retailer plans and retail media campaigns that boost visibility, engagement, and conversion across in-store, online, and retail media channels.

  • Manage end-to-end creative adaptation, tailoring global assets for local retailer needs and ensuring seamless delivery of high-quality materials.

  • Drive portfolio deployment by supporting launches, updates, and rationalisation initiatives with customers to optimize in-market performance.

  • Enhance the shopper experience by deploying Perfect Store/Digital Store assets and identifying opportunities to improve shopability across retailer environments.

  • Strengthen customer/retailer advocacy through education programs, localized content, and the rollout of Platinum Partner initiatives.

  • Oversee A&CP and Trade Expense budgets, ensuring smart allocation, financial compliance, and clear reporting on investment effectiveness.

Your unique ingredients:

  • A university degree in Marketing or a related field, with a passion for building impactful brand experiences.

  • Demonstrated experience in shopper, trade, or customer marketing within FMCG or pet care, with a sharp understanding of how brands win at retail.

  • Deep knowledge of omni-channel retail environments, from in-store theatre to digital shelf strategy.

  • A proven track record of planning, executing, and analyzing high-impact campaigns that drive visibility and conversion.

  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple partners and priorities.

  • A strong communicator who excels at building trusted relationships with internal teams, retailers, and agency partners.

  • Solid financial acumen, including budget management and ROI evaluation.

  • A genuine passion for pets and the premium pet category is a strong advantage.
