📍 Reporting to: Manager, Indirect Tax Operations

About the role
We are seeking a Specialist – Indirect Tax Operations to support the execution, data management, and compliance delivery of indirect taxes across Maersk entities globally. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant indirect tax reporting in a data-driven and increasingly digitised environment.

You will manage an assigned portfolio of jurisdictions and entities of varying complexity, work with multiple stakeholders globally, and contribute to continuous improvement of tax processes, controls, and technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare indirect tax returns (non-complex to high-risk), including extraction of raw data, analysis, exception checking, reconciliations and submissions

  • Prepare and maintain accurate and timely tax support workpapers in line with jurisdictional requirements

  • Maintain supporting accurate documentation and evidence for tax filings and future audits

  • Monitor and manage indirect tax compliance workflows and timelines

  • Support audit requirements across jurisdictions and ensure audit readiness

  • Support implementation of indirect tax reporting solutions

  • Perform GL reconciliations and manage indirect tax account balances, including investigation of and resolutions for open items and aging balances

  • Identify and support process, control, and system improvements

  • Support finance transformation initiatives and tax-related projects

  • Assist with entity registrations/ deregistrations

  • Research international indirect tax legislation for compliance, accounting, and planning purposes

  • Prepare reports, reconciliations, and responses to information requests from management, tax authorities, and auditors

  • Collaborate with transition teams and actively participate in transition activities in line with the transition playbook

  • Maintain proactive and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • Min. 3 years of experience in indirect tax compliance, tax audit support, and process improvement

  • Experience in large MNCs, shared services/CoEs, and/or Big 4 advisory environments

  • Experience with tax reporting technologies

  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (preferred SAP) and reconciliations

  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills

  • Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and a collaborative team player

  • Flexible, knows how to work to multiple deadlines and how to prioritise effectively

  • Team player and should be a team-oriented person

  • Proven commitment to high quality delivery and continuous improvement

  • English required; additional languages are a plus
