Senior Finance Business Partner
Job Description
Stillstrom, a Maersk-backed ocean cleantech venture, is accelerating the decarbonisation of offshore operations through innovative offshore charging solutions for vessels—helping enable a cleaner maritime industry.
We are seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to join us at a key stage of growth, supporting business scaling and decision-making by partnering closely with leadership across a fast-paced, startup environment. This role offers the opportunity to drive both financial insights and operational impact, contributing to product development, commercial progress, and the build-out of a scalable finance function.
The position combines financial planning, performance management and cost control with the development of robust reporting and end-to-end finance processes. The role also includes leading our grant funding activities, working across the organization and with external stakeholders to secure and manage complex funding programs. You will act as a sparring partner to the technical and commercial organizations, challenging assumptions, bringing financial insight and sound recommendations to the table.
The Senior Business Partner will work closely with the CFO in driving the Finance function, partnering up with key stakeholders to bring Stillstrom ambitious goals to reality.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver and drive the financial planning process, analysis and performance management.
- Build and optimize cost control capabilities to ensure project execution is closely monitored and acted upon.
- Lead and drive grant funding activities in the company, from opportunity identification to execution handover, ensuring alignment with external partners and across internal stakeholders.
- Partner closely with the project and engineering teams to anchor a financial lens into product development and project management.
- Own financial modelling of business cases and long-term financial planning of our business.
- Review, challenge and approve contract and purchase order requests – validating compliance to budget, contracting policy and cost versus benefit/risk
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and a robust control environment.
- Play a leading role in designing and optimizing E2E Finance processes to ensure efficiency and scalability.
- Manage our day-to-day relationship with our external financial provider, ensuring book closing, invoicing and payments are executed accurately and on time.
What we're looking for
- Relevant degree in business, accounting, economics, or similar
- +5 years of experience from relevant positions in finance, controlling and business partnering.
- Highly versatile individual ready for a startup environment, good at juggling different tasks and able to prioritize effectively.
- Self-starting and able to deliver results in a rapidly evolving environment.
- Hands-on approach.
- Big picture mindset, but with the ability to zero-in on details.
- Ability to create collaborative and productive working relationships with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong at critically evaluating information, generating solutions and using facts, logic and experience to support decisions.
- Experience from start-up/scale-up and/or early stage cleantech organisations is a plus
- Languages: English as company language
