Purpose of the Role

The role is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations by executing standardized financial and administrative processes accurately and efficiently, while ensuring compliance with established accounting principles, policies, and procedures.

You will be Responsible for:

  • Overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with applicable regulations, accounting principles, and established standards.

  • Managing accounting activities related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, invoicing, cost accounting, and budget accounting, as applicable to the assigned area.

  • Allocating and analyzing direct and indirect costs and supporting actual-versus-budgeted cost variance analysis.

  • Supporting the development and monitoring of annual revenue and expense budgets to help control funds and measure operating performance.

  • Performing skilled technical, administrative, and operational tasks to support accounting and business operations.

  • Executing specialized activities within defined processes, standards, and established operating procedures.

  • Working independently on tasks of limited scope and complexity while exercising judgment within defined boundaries and guidelines.

  • Applying standardized work routines, methods, facts, and information to complete assigned responsibilities accurately and efficiently.

  • Identifying and resolving routine issues independently while escalating non-routine or complex problems to experienced colleagues or supervisors.

  • Applying job-related training and on-the-job experience to execute accounting and administrative activities effectively.

  • Supporting operational teams through accurate, timely, and efficient execution of assigned accounting and administrative tasks.

  • Adapting to established processes and procedures while making appropriate departures from standard processes, where required, to resolve operational issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or a related discipline.

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.

  • Knowledge of standardized accounting and administrative procedures.

  • Good attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work with routine processes and follow established guidelines.

  • Good analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently within defined boundaries and escalate non-routine issues appropriately.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Basic proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.

  • Limited prior job or business knowledge is required, with relevant skills developed through job-related training and on-the-job experience.
