Purpose of the Role
The role is responsible for supporting day-to-day Accounting Operations by ensuring accurate and compliant financial transactions across accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, invoicing, cost accounting, and budget accounting processes. The role applies established accounting standards and operational procedures while collaborating with internal stakeholders to deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality financial operations.
You will be Responsible for:
- Supporting day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Invoicing, Cost Accounting, and Budget Accounting activities.
- Processing financial transactions accurately and in compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation to support operational efficiency, internal controls, and audit readiness.
- Performing cost and budget-related activities, including analysing direct and indirect costs, monitoring variances, and supporting financial reporting.
- Applying standardized accounting procedures while exercising sound judgement within established guidelines and escalating non-routine issues where appropriate.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting queries, support financial operations, and ensure timely completion of assigned activities.
- Ensuring accuracy, compliance, and quality across all accounting transactions by adhering to standard operating procedures and established control mechanisms.
- Monitoring assigned activities, identifying discrepancies or process gaps, and taking appropriate corrective actions or escalating issues to ensure smooth business operations.
- Contributing to continuous process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, standardisation, and service delivery within the Accounting Operations function.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in Accounting Operations, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Invoicing, Cost Accounting, Budget Accounting, or Shared Services.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles, financial processes, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience working with ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or similar) and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in financial transactions.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work within defined timelines, and resolve routine operational issues while escalating complex matters appropriately.
- Willingness to work in a 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM shift and adapt to changing business and operational requirements.
