We’re committed to building an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued, heard, and able to be themselves. Our team members come from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, and we value the unique strengths each person contributes. The Regional Communications & Media Advisor supports the development and execution of communication strategies across internal and external channels. This role contributes to shaping our brand's public image, supports media engagement, and assists with internal and executive communications. The Coordinator will help create and manage content across platforms—leveraging AI-powered tools to improve efficiency and consistency—ensuring messaging aligns with our business goals and strengthens our market presence in North America.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Maersk North America media strategy under the guidance of the Regional Head of Communication, helping ensure alignment with global objectives.

  • Draft and coordinate external communications including press releases, media briefings, and executive communication materials, with a focus on US business and trade media. This includes supporting crisis communication efforts as directed.

  • Assist with social media content creation, covering corporate news, employee stories, and issue management, while supporting global social media needs. Use AI tools (e.g., Copilot, generative AI platforms) to accelerate content drafting, repurpose assets across channels, and optimize posting strategies.

  • Help build and maintain relationships with key media contacts in North America, particularly in the US, to support brand visibility.

  • Support internal communication efforts across various channels, contributing to employee engagement and leadership messaging in the North America region.

  • Contribute to other communication projects as needed, supporting both regional and global initiatives. Proactively identify opportunities to apply AI and automation to improve communications workflows, such as media monitoring, sentiment analysis, and reporting.

Profile

  • A developing flair for storytelling that effectively brings strategies and stories to life, paired with strong attention to detail and a commitment to communication quality.

  • A capable communicator who can execute independently on defined tasks while seeking guidance and feedback to grow in more complex situations.

  • Contributes to team processes, including supporting the development and documentation of communication practices and workflows.

  • Solves day-to-day challenges by identifying key issues, asking the right questions, and escalating when broader impact needs to be considered.

  • A motivated team player and self-starter who takes ownership of assigned tasks and follows through to completion with regular check-ins.

  • Hands-on, proactive attitude with a flexible mindset to pitch in on internal communication efforts, given our lean team structure. Curious about emerging AI tools and eager to experiment with new technologies that enhance productivity.

Competencies

  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders by listening, learning, and executing consistently.

  • Comfortable communicating with various audiences and using platforms and social media communities to support conversation and engagement.

  • Proficiency with O365 tools (including MS Teams, Viva Engage, and SharePoint); experience with or enthusiasm for AI-powered productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, AI writing assistants, media monitoring platforms) is a strong advantage.
