About the Job

Dispatchers play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth operations between drivers, the terminal, and external partners. This position is responsible for assigning and tracking loads in Trinium, coordinating pickup and drop-off appointments through terminal websites, and providing ongoing driver support. The Mobile Dispatch ensures drivers are equipped with the necessary information, resolves inquiries promptly, and transports containers efficiently and on schedule. The Mobile Dispatch must approve and notify accessorial to the Settlement Clerk to pay the drivers to ensure AP is done the right way. He must also notify the Transportation Coordinator to ensure accessorial are charged to the customer (AR). He must maintain contact with the client to ensure accurate dispatch planning and coordination. He must consider which charges (accessorial) are billable. The Mobile Dispatch must also evaluate repair inquiries and decide if they must be sent to a repair company. He must ensure that the drivers or himself keep the application up to date.

Key responsibilities

  • Assign loads to drivers in Trinium, ensuring accurate allocation based on availability and capacity.

  • Generate the Dispatch Report, consolidating the drayage planning for the next business day using data from Trinium, along with information from client reports, port appointments, and assigned drivers.

  • Schedule pickup and drop-off appointments for containers at the port, through the terminal's website.

  • Conduct thorough investigations regarding the loads drivers have completed at the end of the current day and those they will begin the following day.

  • Track and monitor loads to be exported and those already picked up, ensuring timely movement.

  • Evaluate driver availability and assign them to loads they are capable of transporting.

  • Maintain clear communication with the client’s teams in the event of drayage issues or when requesting relevant information for appointment scheduling.

  • Schedule appointments at the customer’s warehouse when needed.

Required experience & skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Accounting is desirable.

  • 3-5 years' experience in Shipping & Logistics industry.

  • English level: Advanced

  • Prior experience with documentation review, data entry, reporting, and Landside execution.

  • Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders

  • Good working knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
