Job Description

About Us

Maersk is on a journey to transform global logistics—evolving from a traditional shipping company into a fully integrated, end‑to‑end supply chain partner. Through innovation, data, and a growing portfolio across ocean, land, and air, Maersk is redefining how goods move around the world. At the heart of this transformation is a relentless focus on standardisation, scalability, and customer-centric solutions.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Functional Platform Owner to lead the development and continuous improvement of technology and processes within a functional platform supporting our air and ocean logistics operations.

Working closely with both business and technology stakeholders, you will ensure that the solutions we deliver are aligned to operational needs—driving efficiency, compliance, cost-effectiveness, and scalable growth. You will take full ownership of defining the value these solutions bring and ensuring that value is realised in day-to-day operations.

A solid understanding of air freight forwarding , combined with a practical, hands-on approach to leveraging AI and automation, will be critical to success in this role.

This is a fully office-based role, requiring on-site presence five days per week at the advertised location.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the product and process roadmap for your platform, aligned to business strategy and operational priorities.
  • Lead discovery and exploration of new products and solutions — including frontline process observation (Gemba) — and identify where automation and AI can create the biggest impact.
  • Map business processes and define the policies and process controls that govern them, including for areas still served by legacy systems.
  • Translate business needs into clear requirements (epics) and cascade them to technology and engineering teams.
  • Define acceptance criteria, review and sign off on technology deliverables, and safeguard quality within your scope.
  • Partner with Governance, Risk & Compliance to design, implement, and govern effective controls, and support internal and external audits.
  • Define and govern master data policy and processes.
  • Define the value-realization benefits, set up the tracking mechanism, and track delivery of value through to business-as-usual.
  • Provide input into annual operating and budget planning cycles and change requests.
  • Act as the subject-matter expert for product and implementation teams, and represent the platform in delivery sprints and feedback loops.
  • Manage integration with customer and vendor technology where it falls within scope

What you bring

  • Logistics expertise — Deep, hands-on experience in air freight forwarding processes — operations, documentation, and customer and vendor flows. Experience with CargoWise in mandatory.
  • Product management — Proven product management experience: owning roadmaps, writing epics and requirements, and partnering with engineering in agile delivery.
  • AI & automation — Practical experience applying AI and automation to operational processes, and a clear view of where they add value.
  • Process improvement — Strong understanding of operational excellence and lean methodology, with a track record of improving systems and processes.
  • Analytical & commercial — Strong analytical skills and comfort with business financials and the drivers of company performance.
  • Customer focus — Customer centricity and genuine frontline knowledge of how the work gets done.
  • Stakeholder management — Ability to operate in a complex, matrixed organization and manage a wide set of stakeholders.
  • Technical acumen — Technical acumen and the ability to translate fluently between business and technology.
  • Ownership — Ability to take ownership of complex products and deliver simple, usable solutions.
  • Ways of working — Resilience, agility, creativity, and strong communication
