Opportunity

At Maersk, we are redefining the boundaries of possibility, continuously setting new standards for efficiency, sustainability, and excellence in global trade. As a global leader in integrated logistics, we connect and simplify our customers' supply chains through innovative solutions and a customer-centric approach.

We are looking for a highly motivated CHB & Depot Operations Agent to join our team in Beira, Mozambique. This role is critical to ensuring the efficient execution of customs brokerage and depot operations, supporting seamless cargo movement, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across Mozambique-led corridors.

The successful candidate will play a key role in reducing customs and depot delays, improving clearance turnaround times, minimizing operational risks and costs, and delivering a superior customer experience through effective stakeholder management and execution.

We Offer

At Maersk, you will have the opportunity to be part of a global organization that is transforming the logistics industry. You will work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment where your contributions have a direct impact on our customers, business performance, and operational success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage customs clearance activities for import and export shipments, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company standards.

  • Coordinate with customs authorities, port authorities, inspection agencies, and service providers to facilitate timely cargo clearance.

  • Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve operational exceptions and delays.

  • Oversee depot operations, including container movements, inventory control, repair coordination, and gate activities.

  • Ensure accurate operational reporting and system updates across relevant platforms.

  • Collaborate closely with Customer Experience, Service Delivery, transport providers, depot operators, and clearing partners to ensure efficient execution.

  • Monitor vendor performance against agreed service levels and compliance requirements.

  • Identify operational risks, capacity constraints, and improvement opportunities, escalating issues where required.

  • Support performance reporting and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Provide timely communication and updates to internal and external stakeholders.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a customer-focused and results-oriented logistics professional who thrives in a dynamic operational environment and enjoys working across multiple stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in customs clearance, freight forwarding, logistics, or depot operations.

  • Strong understanding of import and export processes and customs clearance procedures.

  • Knowledge of Mozambique customs regulations and port authority requirements.

  • Experience working with operational vendors, transport providers, clearing agents, and government authorities.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and coordination skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively under pressure.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

  • Experience working with logistics and operational systems such as SAP, TMS, FRO, or similar platforms.

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Port Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

  • Fluency in English is required. Portuguese language skills will be an advantage.
