LCL Operations Agent – Nordic LCL

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Agent who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes ownership of both operational and financial performance.
The Opportunity
As an LCL Operations Agent, you will be responsible for coordinating export and import shipments from booking creation to final delivery. You will ensure operational excellence, maintain high service levels, proactively manage exceptions, and secure accurate financial execution throughout the shipment lifecycle.
Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and the ability to identify and solve issues before they impact customers or operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
- Manage end-to-end LCL export and import shipments in accordance with Maersk operating procedures and customer requirements.
- Coordinate booking execution, documentation, cargo movements, customs-related activities, and milestone updates.
- Ensure all operational processes, SOPs, KPIs, and compliance requirements are followed consistently.
- Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve delays, discrepancies, and operational exceptions.
- Maintain accurate and timely updates in CargoWise and other operational systems.
- Ensure timely communication with customers, vendors, destinations, and internal stakeholders.
Customer Experience
- Deliver a high level of customer service by understanding customer needs and managing expectations.
- Take ownership of service issues and ensure swift resolution of operational challenges.
- Identify improvement opportunities that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Support customer onboarding and guide customers on Maersk operational processes and digital solutions.
Financial Ownership & Cost Control
- Validate operational costs, vendor charges, and additional expenses related to shipments.
- Ensure all revenue and cost entries are accurately reflected in operational systems.
- Support profitability by identifying cost discrepancies, preventing revenue leakage, and challenging unnecessary costs.
- Follow up on missing charges, invoice discrepancies, and accrual-related activities.
- Maintain strong financial discipline and contribute to accurate shipment profitability.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve operational performance.
- Challenge existing ways of working and contribute ideas that enhance efficiency and service delivery.
- Share best practices and knowledge with colleagues across the Nordic LCL network.
- Support implementation of new processes, systems, and operational standards.
What We're Looking For
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience within freight forwarding, logistics, shipping, or supply chain operations.
- Understanding of international transportation, import/export processes, and shipping documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with operational and financial data.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with LCL freight operations.
- Familiarity with CargoWise (CW1).
- Knowledge of customs procedures, trade compliance, Incoterms, and international logistics processes.
- Experience with financial controls, cost management, or operational profitability management.
