Job Description
Position Summary
The Landside Operations Supervisor, Brokerage is responsible for leading the daily execution of non-asset transportation operations across Canada. This role oversees a team responsible for coordinating customer shipments through a network of carrier partners, ensuring service commitments are met safely, efficiently, and at the right cost. Working closely with customers, carriers, terminals, depots, Operations, Commercial, Finance, and Product teams, the supervisor drives operational performance, resolves service disruptions, and creates sustainable solutions that improve both customer experience and business results. The successful candidate will foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement while supporting Maersk's integrated logistics strategy.
Operational Leadership
Lead daily brokerage operations and ensure customer commitments are achieved.
Drive proactive exception management and service recovery efforts.
Ensure operational processes are executed consistently and in line with customer requirements.
Support industry leading customer experience through timely communication and problem resolution.
Carrier Management
Develop strong carrier partnerships to secure reliable capacity and service performance.
Monitor carrier performance and support corrective action plans where required.
Partner with Procurement to identify service improvements and cost optimization opportunities.
Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop brokerage coordinators and operations specialists.
Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and talent development.
Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.
Performance Management & Continuous Improvement
Monitor KPIs related to service, productivity, visibility, and cost.
Use data and root cause analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
Drive process standardization and operational discipline across the business.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary escalation point for operational issues.
Build strong relationships with customers, terminals, depots, rail providers, and internal stakeholders.
Support customer business reviews and operational performance discussions.
Financial & Cost Management
Support transportation cost management through effective carrier utilization and operational decisions.
Partner with Finance and Procurement on spend analysis and performance reviews.
Identify opportunities to reduce cost while maintaining customer commitments.
Qualifications
3 to 5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, freight brokerage, supply chain, or related operations.
Previous experience leading frontline operational teams.
Strong understanding of carrier management, transportation operations, and customer service.
Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills.
Proficiency with transportation management systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Pay Range: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00*
*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
