Key Responsibilities

Execution responsibility

  • Champion a seamless transhipment process by ensuring cargo incidents in Port of Tanjung Pelepas and Singapore (hubs) do not disrupt our delivery promises to customers.
  • Lead and coordinate incident handling by working with various stakeholders to resolve hub cargo issues without affecting customer experience.
  • Streamline incident management through developing and implementing processes for smooth handling of hub incidents.
  • Enhance and unify cargo incident processes within APA Operations.
  • Develop performance measurements and understand the impact of cargo incidents to our delivery promise
  • Arrange and coordinate special cargo handling to avoid negative impact to berth and vessel utilisation
  • Collaborate with the berth planning team and hub service planning team to resolve issues before they impact the vessel game plan
  • Working closely with various stakeholders (internally and externally) to ensure cargo can be safely moved to the next destination, and in compliance with global regulations.
  • Be present on the ground to independently solve issues and suggest improvement ideas to increase berth productivity

Engagement responsibility

  • Build robust relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to continuously reduce costs, enhance customer experience, and optimize processes for future success.
  • Collaborate with all APA Operations stakeholders to maintain a healthy hub, and seek feedback to improve customer experience with transhipment products
  • Ensure top-notch vendor performance and compliance for terminal services, fostering constructive dialogue for mutual growth.
  • Always prioritize the customer, acting with urgency to enhance their experience.

We are looking for

  • General experience in the shipping or terminal industry will be valued, and any operations experience will be a significant advantage
  • A diligent, self-disciplined, and upright individual, accepting personal ownership for your results
  • Possess innovation and drive to provide solutions and ideas that will improve our service level and reduce our operational cost
  • An excellent communicator who is able to interact and convey ideas when working with cross-cultural teams and multiple stakeholders
  • Possess flexibility in making decisions and prioritizing tasks, and being comfortable in dealing with ambiguity and complexity
  • Able to work independently at the terminal, and be comfortable making on-the-spot decisions with significant impact to Maersk
  • An enthusiastic, energetic, and confident, and be an effective team player
  • Handling urgent cargo incidents after office hours will be required
