Key Responsibilities
Execution responsibility
- Champion a seamless transhipment process by ensuring cargo incidents in Port of Tanjung Pelepas and Singapore (hubs) do not disrupt our delivery promises to customers.
- Lead and coordinate incident handling by working with various stakeholders to resolve hub cargo issues without affecting customer experience.
- Streamline incident management through developing and implementing processes for smooth handling of hub incidents.
- Enhance and unify cargo incident processes within APA Operations.
- Develop performance measurements and understand the impact of cargo incidents to our delivery promise
- Arrange and coordinate special cargo handling to avoid negative impact to berth and vessel utilisation
- Collaborate with the berth planning team and hub service planning team to resolve issues before they impact the vessel game plan
- Working closely with various stakeholders (internally and externally) to ensure cargo can be safely moved to the next destination, and in compliance with global regulations.
- Be present on the ground to independently solve issues and suggest improvement ideas to increase berth productivity
Engagement responsibility
- Build robust relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to continuously reduce costs, enhance customer experience, and optimize processes for future success.
- Collaborate with all APA Operations stakeholders to maintain a healthy hub, and seek feedback to improve customer experience with transhipment products
- Ensure top-notch vendor performance and compliance for terminal services, fostering constructive dialogue for mutual growth.
- Always prioritize the customer, acting with urgency to enhance their experience.
We are looking for
- General experience in the shipping or terminal industry will be valued, and any operations experience will be a significant advantage
- A diligent, self-disciplined, and upright individual, accepting personal ownership for your results
- Possess innovation and drive to provide solutions and ideas that will improve our service level and reduce our operational cost
- An excellent communicator who is able to interact and convey ideas when working with cross-cultural teams and multiple stakeholders
- Possess flexibility in making decisions and prioritizing tasks, and being comfortable in dealing with ambiguity and complexity
- Able to work independently at the terminal, and be comfortable making on-the-spot decisions with significant impact to Maersk
- An enthusiastic, energetic, and confident, and be an effective team player
- Handling urgent cargo incidents after office hours will be required
