Job Description

Maersk Air Cargo is a critical part of Maersk’s global logistics network, operating in a highly regulated, asset‑intensive aviation environment. We are looking for a finance leader to serve as Head of Finance, partnering closely with the Air Cargo leadership team to drive financial insight, discipline, and long‑term value creation.

This is a high‑impact leadership role suited to individuals with aviation, airline, or air cargo experience who are comfortable operating in complex environments with significant operational, regulatory, and stakeholder demands.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Own the financial strategy for Maersk Air Cargo, including budgeting, forecasting, capital allocation, cost control and financial risk management
  • Act as a strategic partner to senior leaders on performance management, investment decisions, and financial trade‑offs
  • Drive transparency across EBIT, cost‑to‑serve, working capital, asset utilisation, and ROI

Asset Economics & Lifecycle Management

  • Maintain a forward‑looking financial view of the fleet, engines, and major assets, including lease and end‑of‑life considerations
  • Oversee financial planning related to maintenance events, asset investments, and cost exposure
  • Govern pricing and financial models for ACMI and ad‑hoc charter activity

Governance, Compliance & Risk

  • Ensure strong financial controls, statutory reporting, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance
  • Oversee aviation‑specific compliance areas, including environmental and emissions frameworks (e.g. ETS, CORSIA, SAF)
  • Manage risk, insurance, and legal exposure in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders

Leadership & Organisation

  • Lead and develop an engaged finance organisation
  • Build credibility across the organisation through clear communication, collaboration, sound judgment, and decisive leadership

Who You Are

  • A proven finance leader from the aviation, airline, or air cargo industry
  • Experienced in regulated, asset‑heavy environments with long‑term investment horizons
  • Collaborative and comfortable operating in complex, senior stakeholder settings
  • Commercially minded, structured, and resilient, with strong leadership presence
