Lead execution of Maersk Airfreight strategy within the Area to deliver profitable growth, operational excellence, and customer value. Accountable for Area P&L, market competitiveness, and service quality through effective procurement, pricing, and solution design. Drive operational performance, compliance, and process standardization while fostering collaboration across Area, Regional, and Global teams. Serve as a key leader in the Area, enabling Sales, guiding strategic initiatives, and ensuring seamless integration of Airfreight solutions across gateways and the network.

Key responsibilities

• Area P&L Management. Responsible and Accountable for Area Airfreight P&L and achieving budget targets.
• Growth and Market Competitiveness. Drive sustainable growth across customers in the Area and strengthen market competitiveness.
• Sales Enablement and Guidance. Align Airfreight objectives with business goals. Act as product expert for Sales, ensuring Airfreight is easy to sell and enabling Sales to deliver on targets.
• Procurement. Execute Airfreight strategy within the Area. Identify procurement leverage opportunities and maintain relationships with preferred partners at Area level. Support gateway procurement activities.
• Pricing and Tenders. Implement Area pricing approach aligned with regional and global strategy. Accountable for RFQ pricing and spot pricing within defined thresholds. Support local pricing desks as needed.
• Solution Design. Develop customer-specific Airfreight solutions within the Area network, leveraging gateways and consolidation points.
• Gateway and Operations Management. Oversee gateway operations, ensuring consolidation/de-consolidation efficiency, cost optimization, and service quality. Drive GP improvement and OTP delivery.
• Business Process Excellence. Identify operational pain points requiring Area intervention and resolve in alignment with Regional and Center BPE. Drive process standardization across countries in the Area.
• Collaboration and Governance. Partner with Regional Airfreight leadership to deploy new processes and solutions. Coordinate with other Area Heads to align strategies and share best practices.
• Resource Management. Manage operational resources in line with productivity and forecast targets. Ensure proper staffing, training, and development.
• Customer Engagement. Build and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure service quality and support growth ambitions.
