Job Description

A.P. Moller - Maersk is an integrated logistics company working to connect and simplify our customers’ supply chains. Through our global network and end-to-end logistics capabilities, we help customers manage complex supply chains and move goods across the world.

Global Client Manager, Aid & Relief

We are now recruiting a Global Client Manager for our Aid & Relief business. If you are passionate about global logistics, strategic customer partnerships and creating resilient supply-chain solutions for humanitarian organisations, this opportunity could be for you.

We offer

You will join a global, diverse and performance-driven organisation where commercial thinking, collaboration and customer value are at the centre of how we work. In this role, you will have significant ownership of a portfolio of strategic Aid & Relief customers and prospects, supported by experienced colleagues across sales, product, solution design and operations.

  • An opportunity to play a central role in expanding Maersk’s global Aid & Relief business.
  • Ownership of strategic customer relationships, account plans and commercial growth priorities.
  • Exposure to complex, international supply chains and end-to-end logistics solutions.
  • The opportunity to shape Maersk’s Aid & Relief customer proposition and go-to-market approach.
  • A collaborative environment where you can influence across functions and geographies.

The position is located in Aarhus or Copenhagen, Denmark.

Key responsibilities

As Global Client Manager, Aid & Relief, you will be the overall commercial owner and senior relationship lead for selected global customers and strategic prospects. You will build long-term partnerships, develop new business and coordinate Maersk’s global account teams to deliver sustainable and profitable growth.

  • Serve as global commercial owner for a portfolio of strategic Aid & Relief customers and prospects, with accountability for growth, profitability, customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Develop and execute global account plans, stakeholder strategies and qualified opportunity pipelines aligned with customer priorities and Maersk’s Aid & Relief ambitions.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across procurement, logistics, supply chain, programme management and leadership.
  • Identify, qualify and convert new opportunities across Maersk’s end-to-end logistics portfolio through structured business development and consultative selling.
  • Lead the commercial strategy for global tenders, contract negotiations and major customer opportunities, ensuring solutions are competitive, executable and commercially sustainable.
  • Coordinate global account teams across sales, product, solution design, operations and local client management to ensure consistent engagement and execution.
  • Translate complex humanitarian logistics requirements into integrated solutions across Ocean, Air, Landside, Warehousing, Customs, Project Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
  • Drive implementation and account governance, including contract compliance, strategic business reviews, continuous improvement and escalation management.
  • Manage commercial performance through disciplined pipeline management, forecasting, revenue growth and profit-margin optimisation.
  • Contribute customer and market insights to Maersk’s global Aid & Relief strategy, value proposition and commercial capability development.

Who we are looking for

Our ideal candidate is commercially driven, customer-focused and comfortable taking ownership in a complex global environment. You combine strategic thinking with strong execution and can mobilise colleagues across a matrix organisation without relying on formal authority. You are structured, collaborative and calm under pressure, with a genuine interest in supporting humanitarian supply chains.

The strong candidate has:

  • Proven experience in global account management, key client management, strategic sales or business development.
  • Relevant experience from logistics, supply chain, freight forwarding, shipping or a related industry.
  • Knowledge of Aid & Relief supply chains, humanitarian organisations, donor-funded programmes or public procurement is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop senior customer relationships and convert customer needs into measurable commercial value.
  • Experience leading complex tenders, commercial negotiations and multi-country customer engagements.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including revenue, profitability, pricing and contractual considerations.
  • Solid understanding of logistics products, international trade, cross-trade movements and Incoterms.
  • Excellent stakeholder-management, communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence across organisational and geographical boundaries.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and willingness to travel internationally when required.

About the professional level

This is an individual-contributor role with emphasis on applying in-depth commercial, customer and industry knowledge. The role works independently within established practices and policies, seeking guidance on more complex or non-routine topics. It may include coaching less experienced colleagues, coordinating global account teams and overseeing commercial processes or programmes. Success requires a strong understanding of the wider business and the interdependencies between sales, product, operations, finance, legal, solution design and customer experience.

Apply now

If you are motivated by global customer leadership, complex logistics and the opportunity to support humanitarian supply chains, we would like to hear from you. Applications will be reviewed continuously.
