Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Environmental Manager to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of global environmental standards across our Logistics & Services (L&S) operations.

In this role, you’ll act as the central environmental expert for L&S—aligning priorities with the business and enabling sustainable, compliant, and high‑performing operations across warehousing, depots, and transportation globally.

You will play a key role in environmental risk management, ESG reporting, and alignment with enterprise Environment & Ecosystems (E&E) priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Environmental Standards & Governance

  • Own and maintain global environmental standards within the Maersk HSSE Management Framework.
  • Design clear, practical processes aligned with ISO 14001 and internal/external requirements.
  • Partner with regional assurance teams to assess implementation at sites.

Environmental Risk & Incident Management

  • Serve as L&S subject matter expert on environmental risks and mitigation.
  • Equip regional and area S&R teams with tools and guidance for risk assessments and due diligence.

Data, Reporting & Performance

  • Lead environmental KPI data collection across L&S.
  • Provide inputs to the Double Materiality Assessment and ERM register.
  • Support ESG reporting and ensure accurate, timely information for stakeholders.

Capability Building & Guidance

  • Coach leaders and colleagues on environmental topics.
  • Develop training, awareness materials, and guidance for environmental programs.
  • Ensure global S&R teams understand and can apply environmental standards effectively.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Procurement, Operations, Facility Management, Finance, Sustainability, and external partners.
  • Represent L&S in internal environmental working groups and support alignment with enterprise strategies.
  • Respond to inquiries from internal teams, customers, and partners.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Advanced degree in HSE, Environmental Management, Engineering, or similar field.
  • 5–10 years of senior-level environmental management experience.
  • Strong analytical, collaborative, and communication skills.
  • Expert knowledge of:
    • Warehousing and depot operations
    • Environmental risks in logistics environments
    • Global HSE regulations
    • ISO 14001 environmental management systems

Why Join Us?

This role places you at the center of how our global L&S operations manage environmental impact—supporting safer, more sustainable, and compliant practices worldwide. You will influence strategy, shape standards, and make a lasting positive contribution across our global network.
