You will be part of the Ocean Cost and Trades Finance team, a diverse and motivated team which plays a central role in the transformation of the Ocean Business and optimization of our Ocean cost base. You will partner with the Head of Ocean Network Products, North America on driving the PnL performance management for respective trades. You will identify risks and opportunities for the business and support stakeholders’ decision-making through data-driven insight and analysis, as well as being the mini-CFO covering management reporting, forecasting, budgeting, performance management, correct trade allocation, deep dive analysis and finance-related business support.

You will enjoy being close to the execution of our strategy, influencing the outcomes in a direct and sustainable manner. The role will give you the opportunity to contribute to strategic decisions which optimize our Ocean Network and having significant impact on the financial performance of Maersk’s Ocean business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performance management/ Management Reporting: Drive accurate, timely and aligned reporting of financial, commercial and operational performance indicators. Lead performance reviews, challenge assumptions, identify gaps to plan, and influence decisions that drive stronger business outcomes. Challenge the network design and market strategy and drive efficiency across the finance team.
  • Forecasting & Budgeting: Own and drive the quarterly forecasting and planning process for your portfolio. Collaborate closely with stakeholders across the business to ensure robust assumptions, high-quality financial insights and clear visibility of risks and opportunities.
  • Business Partnering: Work alongside senior stakeholders to support strategic and operational decision-making, evaluate business opportunities, assess alternative scenarios and provide recommendations that help the business navigate an increasingly dynamic and competitive environment. You can expect to tackle a wide range of complex and high-impact challenges.
  • Opportunity and pipeline management: Proactively identify opportunities, risks and performance improvement initiatives. Through forward-looking analysis and critical thinking, help uncover value-creation opportunities and support cost optimisation efforts as a subject matter expert within your area of responsibility.
  • Continuous improvement: Help shape the future of finance by driving simplification, automation and smarter ways of working.

We are looking for

  • A degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field, combined with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong financial acumen and P&L expertise, with a solid understanding of cost structures, performance drivers, and financial planning principles.
  • Proven analytical and agile mindset, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify key insights, and translate them into actionable recommendations while maintaining a strategic perspective.
  • Advanced communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics, align diverse stakeholders, and drive outcomes without formal authority.
  • Highly collaborative and relationship-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across functions, regions, and cultures.
  • Strong technical capabilities and a digital mindset, combining analytical rigour with a genuine interest in AI, automation, and emerging technologies. Comfortable adopting new tools and systems while continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes, data quality, and decision-making.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English. Danish is not required.

Location & workplace: This role is based in Copenhagen and expected to be on-site five days per week.
