Job Description

Would you like to be part of a value-driven, commercially oriented international environment where we enable global trade every day? We have an opportunity for an Air Customer Experience (CX) Consultant to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Air CX Consultant will be responsible for the execution of air operations and customer service activities with the purpose of delivering a consistent, seamless customer experience as well as handling all aspects of import and export file management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acceptance and tracking of cargo pre-alerts, including data quality checks and communication with overseas office.

  • Arrange and monitor airline/customer cargo collections and deliveries.

  • Handle and process air freight documentation e.g. licenses, packing lists, commercial invoices.

  • Prepare and issue AWBs in accordance with local practice and policies.

  • Familiar with customs clearance activities.

  • Timely and accurate job costing and file closing in accordance with company guidelines.

  • Timely and accurate customer invoicing.

  • Operational finance activities including vendor invoice reconciliation and inter-company billing.

  • Create and maintain customer specific reports and trackers ensuring compliance to agreed KPIs.

  • Customer enquiries and query resolution.

  • Service delivery execution.

  • Develop and maintain customer and supplier relationships.

  • Ensure Company guidelines and operating procedures are followed at all times.

  • Ensure compliance with aviation and AEO security.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Someone with:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in the air freight industry

  • Knowledge of the automotive industry is highly preferable

  • Customer-centric mindset.

  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Teamwork and team mindset.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Technical skills:

  • Microsoft Office (Intermediate)

  • Fully competent on freight management systems (I.e., Cargowise and Kewill) to produce MAWB, HAWB and air freight documentation

  • Working knowledge of Customs systems to execute export customs clearances

  • Dangerous goods by air

  • Aviation security
