At Maersk, we believe in the power of diversity, collaboration, and continuous learning, and we work hard to ensure that the people in our organisation reflect and understand the customers we exist to serve.

With over 100,000 employees across 130 countries, we work together to shape the future of global trade and logistics.

Join us as we harness cutting-edge technologies and unlock opportunities on a global scale. Together, let’s sail towards a brighter, more sustainable future with Maersk.

What We Offer

This is an exciting career opportunity to work in a multinational, Global 500 company that makes global trade happen. You will be interacting daily with colleagues internationally, giving you the opportunity to develop your professional skills in a global environment. We provide support for you to shape your own career by achieving expertise and learning on the job.

  • A hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote, supporting effective collaboration and focus
  • Exposure to a broad, end‑to‑end logistics and services portfolio, including air, drayage, warehousing, and value‑added services
  • Opportunities to build deep expertise in claims handling, negotiation, and stakeholder management within a global organisation
  • A professional environment that values data quality, operational discipline, and continuous improvement

Key Responsibilities

As a Claim Adjuster, you will play a critical role in managing claims across Maersk’s Logistics and Services business by ensuring timely, accurate, and fair resolution.

  • Manage and coordinate all activities related to the claims lifecycle, from receipt through investigation, settlement, and closure
  • Engage directly with internal and external stakeholders, including operations, legal, insurance partners, and claimants, to ensure efficient resolution
  • Create, maintain, and audit claim files in accordance with company best practices, governance standards, and audit requirements
  • Review and interpret contractual terms and obligations to assess claim merits and liability exposure
  • Conduct direct settlement negotiations with claimants and coordinate the execution of general releases, claim payments, and system closure
  • Support global legal teams by gathering and organizing internal and external information for lawsuits or other legal proceedings
  • Identify root causes of claims and contribute insights that support loss prevention, process improvements, and risk mitigation
  • Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures related to claims processes with guidance from your direct manager
  • Support senior members of the NAM Regional Claims Hub with claim payments, vendor invoices, and ad hoc projects as required

What We Are Looking For

Continuous improvement mindset:
We are looking for someone who brings a thoughtful improvement mindset—curious about how work gets done and motivated to strengthen processes, data quality, and outcomes over time.

In addition, you bring:

  • 3–5 years of experience within the maritime, logistics, or transportation industry
  • Experience in cargo claims handling, subrogation, loss prevention, or legal support (preferred)
  • Strong problem‑solving, negotiation, and conflict‑resolution skills
  • Clear, confident communication skills across written, verbal, and stakeholder interactions
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • A customer‑ and solutions‑focused mindset, with the judgment to know when direct engagement adds value
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows‑based systems; experience with claims management systems is an advantage
  • Bilingual capabilities (Spanish) strongly preferred
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Domestic travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
