
Bid Management Lead – Government & Defense Logistics

About the Role
At Maersk Project Logistics – Government & Defence, we support customers operating in some of the world's most demanding environments. To support our continued growth, we are seeking a Bid Management Lead to manage and coordinate strategic tender opportunities across the Government & Defence sector.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving the bid process from opportunity qualification through proposal submission, ensuring cross-functional teams are aligned to deliver compelling, compliant, and competitive solutions. You will work closely with colleagues across commercial, operational, and support functions while gaining exposure to global logistics solutions that support government, defence, security, and humanitarian operations.

Key Responsibilities
Bid Leadership & Coordination
- Lead and manage the bid process from opportunity qualification through proposal submission.
- Develop bid plans, timelines, and deliverables to ensure proposals are completed on time.
- Organize bid review meetings, track actions, and keep stakeholders aligned throughout the bid process.
- Support bid governance activities and ensure required approvals are obtained.
- Ensure submissions are delivered in accordance with Maersk bid management standards and customer requirements.
Proposal Management
- Review customer tender documents, including RFPs, RFQs, and Framework Agreements.
- Prepare compliance matrices and coordinate responses from subject matter experts.
- Consolidate technical, commercial, and operational inputs into clear, high-quality proposals.
- Ensure customer requirements are addressed accurately and that submissions meet deadlines.
- Manage clarification questions and support customer communications throughout the tender process.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Business Development, Solution Design, Operations, and support functions to develop logistics solutions.
- Help develop proposals covering transportation, warehousing, project logistics, and integrated supply chain services.
- Support internal reviews to ensure proposals are accurate, compliant, and commercially sound.
- Build strong working relationships across the Government & Defence organization and wider MPL network.
Risk & Quality Management
- Track key risks, assumptions, and actions throughout the bid process.
- Support contract review activities with Legal, Compliance, Security, and Finance teams.
- Maintain bid documentation, templates, and lessons learned repositories.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of bid management processes and best practices.
What We're Looking For
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in bid management, proposal management, project coordination, commercial support, logistics operations, or supply chain management.
- Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and managing competing deadlines.
- Experience within logistics, freight forwarding, project logistics, government, defence, humanitarian aid, or similar industries is considered an advantage.
- Experience with government or public-sector tenders is beneficial but not required.
Skills
- Strong project coordination and organizational skills.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
