Who we are

As the UK’s leading beer, cider and pub business, we’re home to some of the world’s best-loved beers and ciders, and a leading player in the international drinks industry. We're the name behind a host of brilliant brands, from Inch’s to Birra Moretti and many more. And with around 2,400 pubs to our name in the UK, our Star Pubs business is all about putting pubs at the centre of community life.

But we’re more than just great beers and ciders – we’re a place where passion meets purpose, careers are crafted as carefully as our brews, and enjoyment of life is part of the job. We're proud to be a certified Great Place to Work®, as well as being recognised as one of the UK's Best Workplaces in Manufacturing, Production & Transportation™.

About the role

As the Process Technician, you’ll play a key role along the kegging production line. Reporting into the Shift Leader for the area, you’ll take ownership of the production process by being at the first level of escalation for production activities, champion continuous improvement principles by leading on initiatives & coaching team members. Your core responsibilities will also include:

  • Operate and clean equipment, carry out basic maintenance, and respond to defects, losses and breakdowns. Sustain and improve standards using Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
  • Carry out first line troubleshooting, reduce short stops, correct set up issues and escalate to Technicians when needed.
  • Actively lead & participate in TPM activities such as Centre lining, change-over reduction, APM steps 0-5, unified problem solving, shift handovers, team meetings and training.
  • Adhere & champion all health, safety, environment and hygiene policies, support a zero accident culture and look for ways to improve workplace safety.
  • Complete all quality checks accurately and aim to make products First Time Right (FTR). Act quickly on any deviation from Heineken standards.
  • Know the processes and machines well, find the root cause of failures and losses, report irregularities, and work with colleagues to prevent them happening again.
  • Complete cleaning, inspection, lubrication and tightening on time and in full, and carry out allocated basic maintenance to keep machines at their basic conditions.
  • Carry out mechanical, process and IT procedures, including changeovers, following the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
  • Help improve performance indicators, reduce raw material and product loss, and control stock accurately using systems such as SAP.

You’ll be based within the broader packaging team, focused on keeping our bottling, canning and other lines running smoothly and efficiently. Your role includes ensuring machinery is reliable, well-maintained and safe, while also anticipating future needs and driving fresh, innovative improvements to increase the site’s overall output.
