Brewery Logistics Manager

Salary: Circa £61,500 - £65,000 depending on experience, plus benefits listed below

What’s the role?
We’re looking for an outstanding logistics / supply chain professional to join the Leadership Team as our Logistics Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity where you will be able to enhance your existing experience & knowledge and build your profile across our Manchester site as this role will see you reach out to all corners of the operations.

This role sits on the site leadership team and reports directly to the Primary Logistics Manager, with a dotted line to the Brewery Director, your responsibility will be to manage and lead the logistics operations, ensuring the safe and effective transport and storage of inbound materials and outbound finished goods. Your direct team will include Logistics Shift Managers and as this is a leadership role, one of your key strengths will be coaching and mentoring to get the best out of your team.

Collaboration will be key, both with your internal leadership team peer in packaging and with our chosen logistics partners. We place a huge emphasis on lean techniques, with our own methodology of Total Productive Management (TPM) that we work by.

Some other responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage a cost-effective Brewery Logistics operation on site to meet annual budgets, deliver operational efficiencies and achieve operational productivity objectives.
  • Lead and manage the operations to ensure freshness and product quality integrity to HEINEKEN standards for finished goods that flow through the Brewery logistics operations on site.
  • Lead the Brewery Logistics input at site and in collaboration with key stakeholders, utilise the daily control systems to ensure we balance resources and meet production plans and customer demands.
  • Lead and manage the delivery of the Employee relations strategy on site and in conjunction with the local Brewery Operations.

What are we looking for?
To put it simply we are looking for an experienced leader with recognised qualifications, however, what is more important to us is your leadership and people management skills, your strategic thinking / positive change capability and experience within a large FMCG Logistics department.

On top of a can-do attitude and enthusiasm, we’re also looking for:

  • Safety mindset
  • Experience in continuous improvement techniques and collaboration
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Experience leading and coaching high-performing teams
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Understanding of operational and commercial aspects
