THE ROLE
The Legal Team at Farfetch is seeking a Legal Counsel (Regulatory, Antitrust) reporting to the Principal Legal Counsel (Regulatory). You will enjoy a broad role, delivering high quality legal advice on antitrust matters across the entire Farfetch group including in relation to strategic partnerships, innovation initiatives, and growth opportunities. You will be working alongside the London Legal Team, as well as our wider international Legal Team sitting in Porto, New York, Milan and Shanghai. Acting as a true business partner, this role requires someone who is hands on and commercially minded, with a strong professional ethic and the energy, interest and training to pursue a broad array of antitrust matters. This is a role with great potential for the right candidate to quickly grow their level of experience, responsibility and autonomy.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Advising the business on antitrust matters arising out of strategic partnerships, integration planning matters, existing and novel products, services and collaborations of the Farfetch Group;
  • Supporting the Principal Legal Counsel (Regulatory) and wider Legal Team on all antitrust matters applicable to the Farfetch Group, large-scale agreements and corporate acquisitions;
  • Working on the Farfetch Group’s engagement strategy with regulators and policy makers across a broad range of issues;
  • Creating and implementing business support tools on antitrust matters;
  • Supporting the Regulatory Legal Team on other matters, including foreign investment reviews considerations, horizon scanning, identifying and researching enforcement trends and risks that may impact the Farfetch business, and presenting those to senior and executive stakeholders in the business;
  • Performing periodic risk assessments under antitrust, digital regulation, and consumer protection laws, in collaboration with the wider Legal Team;
  • Assisting on implementing processes, policies, compliance tools and training programs to educate relevant parts of the Farfetch business on antitrust and regulatory matters (e.g. consumer protection and sustainability);
  • Working with the Legal Teams in Portugal, US, Italy and China, and external counsel, on a range of matters arising out of these territories.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Be an EU or UK qualified lawyer with 1+ years’ PQE, ideally with strong tech and retail experience (whether gained in advising technology businesses or due to a secondment).
  • Have experience advising on all areas of antitrust rules, including commercial agreements and merger control. Prior in-house experience would be beneficial.
  • Have a solid work ethic and attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities and judgement, possess excellent communication and drafting skills.
  • Have a proven ability to deliver commercial and pragmatic solutions and concise advice. Be able to work effectively and collaboratively cross-functionally with multiple team members, think practically and be solution-oriented.
  • Be someone who is organised, proactive and reliable, able to work under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment. Be curious and willing to tackle matters outside of your area of expertise.
  • Have a global outlook and experience working with multiple territories or managing international projects.
