Surveyor (Senior) - Real Estate Valuations - London or Manchester

The opportunity

At EY-Parthenon, our unique combination of transformative strategy, transactions, tax and corporate finance delivers real-world value – solutions that work in practice, not just on paper. Benefiting from EY’s full spectrum of services, we’ve reimagined strategic consulting to work in a world of increasing complexity. With deep functional and sector expertise, paired with innovative AI-powered technology and an investor mindset, we partner with CEOs, boards, private equity and governments every step of the way.

We are seeking to recruit a recently qualified valuation surveyor to grow our real estate valuations capability. The work will centre around valuation analysis but will also encompass more general real estate advisory services for our clients.

Your key responsibilities

Real Estate Valuation is part of the wider Valuation team, a fully integrated group of c.100 professionals providing both tangible and intangible valuation services to our clients. We work with many of the largest blue-chip corporates, investment funds, developers, banks, private equity and public sector clients across a diverse range of industry sectors and asset types, providing insights and quality services to help build trust and confidence in capital markets and economies across the globe.

As part of your role, you will:

  • Undertake with limited supervision the necessary research and preparation of audit valuation reviews across all property sectors, predominantly in the UK with exposure to international markets. This will include contact with clients, external valuers and senior EY specialists and will capture core industrial, office and retail assets but also operational assets in sectors such as build to rent, PBSA, healthcare, hospitality, data centres and others.
  • Assist the Team in undertaking a broad range of valuation and advisory projects including valuations for financial reporting, transaction diligence and tax.
  • Work closely with other EY teams, including Audit but also business valuation, tax and advisory colleagues, both in the UK business and internationally.
  • Develop and use valuation models that will be used to advise clients on Real Estate valuations.
  • Work with industry wide software such as Argus Enterprise and Developer.
  • Undertake research on real estate transactions by use of property related databases.
  • Support the preparation of proposals.

Skills and attributes for success

What we look for

  • MRICS and ideally RICS Registered valuer qualification
  • UK commercial property valuation experience
  • Good communicator and highly articulate (written and verbal), with high-quality report writing skills.
  • The ability to learn quickly and keep abreast of technical and legislative developments, as well as markets, across a wide range of sectors (with the opportunity to specialise where appropriate).
  • Good working knowledge of Argus and Microsoft Excel.
  • Committed to business development and able to identify opportunities to deliver the best value
  • Energetic, lateral thinker with an enquiring mind and a commercial approach.
  • High degree of personal drive and motivation to succeed

We will fuel your ambition and potential with future-focused skills development that equips you with state-of-the-art methodologies and technology-enabled solutions. With more than 25,000 people in 150 countries, you will join an inclusive and empowering culture that values your uniqueness, prioritizes your wellbeing, and immerses you in the diverse thinking and cross-cultural experiences necessary to help deliver impact to clients across the globe and to help build a better working world.
