EY’s Corporate Transaction Tax team (CTT), part of our International Tax and Transaction Services (ITTS) practice, advises some of the largest UK and multinational organisations on complex and high‑profile transactions. Our team is consistently recognised as the most developed corporate focused M&A tax team, having advised on six of the ten largest corporate transactions in the market in 2025, working alongside award‑winning Partners and multidisciplinary deal teams. This is an exciting opportunity to join our high‑performing M&A tax team at a pivotal time for the UK and global deals market. You will play a key role in helping clients navigate complexity and deliver successful transactions across the full deal lifecycle.

You will work across a broad range of transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, group restructurings, IPOs and refinancings, advising on tax structuring, buy and sell‑side tax due diligence, SPA support, funds flows and post‑deal implementation. Given the cross‑border nature of much of our work, you will collaborate closely with EY teams globally, combining deep UK tax expertise with international tax.

Your key responsibilities

• Support buy‑side and sell‑side tax due diligence engagements, transaction structuring, SPA reviews, refinancings, funds flows and group restructurings, working with senior team members to deliver clear, practical advice.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, bringing a commercial and pragmatic mindset to problem‑solving.
• Contribute to business development activities.
• Maintain and develop UK and international tax technical knowledge, staying informed on relevant market and legislative developments.
• Coach and support junior colleagues through effective delegation and day‑to‑day guidance.
• Leverage AI and technology to enhance how we analyse, deliver and communicate transaction tax advice, driving greater efficiency and insight for our clients.

Skills and attributes for success

What we look for

• ACA, ATT, CTA (or international equivalent) or a legal qualification.
• Relevant experience in tax, transactions and/or restructuring (prior M&A experience is not required).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
• High attention to detail, with a focus on delivering quality output.
• Commercially-minded, with the ability to solve problems pragmatically.
• Ability to plan and prioritise work and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Adaptable and proactive, with the confidence to take ownership and use initiative.
