Senior Consultant - Microsoft – AI Business Transformation – TC
The opportunity
This is a hands-on delivery role. You will help financial services clients turn AI ideas into real, working solutions. You will work as part of a delivery team, own tasks and small workstreams, and do much of the practical work yourself — running assessments, building agents and automations, and helping people actually use them.
Much of what you build will use Microsoft platforms, especially Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, Cowork and the Power Platform.
You should be comfortable connecting business needs to the right Microsoft tools, working alongside more senior colleagues and technical architects, and explaining your work in plain language.
Working alongside Microsoft's teams is part of the role — the Account team, Specialist Team Unit (STU) sellers and Global Black Belt (GBB) specialists — to build joint solutions and speed up delivery.
Help clients move from AI ambition to working solutions that deliver measurable value.
Build a strong working relationship with Microsoft and help grow joint (co-sell and co-build) opportunities through the alliance.
Deliver AI solutions that help clients move from AI ambition to practical, working results and measurable value.
Support the wider team in building the Microsoft relationship and joint (co-sell / co-build) work.
Your key responsibilities
Design and discovery
- Support discovery and design: interviews, workshops, process reviews, data analysis and opportunity assessment.
- Run rapid assessments that map the current state, shape the target state and help validate the business case for agentic AI.
- Help identify and prioritise AI use cases and agent opportunities based on value, feasibility, risk, complexity and readiness.
- Build simple cost models and business-case inputs that show the expected impact and the cost to build, run and scale solutions across regions and phases.
- Contribute to roadmaps, MVP scope, sequencing, delivery plans and adoption approaches.
- Work with AI, data and technology colleagues to make sure ideas are technically doable and fit the client's architecture, data and controls.
- Spot where Microsoft tools can help — Microsoft 365 Copilot for the everyday AI interface, Copilot Studio for custom agents, Cowork for autonomous workflow, Power Platform for automation and apps, Azure AI for enterprise AI, and Microsoft Purview and Entra ID for governance and secure access.
Build, pilot and scale
- Design, build and test custom Copilot Studio agents and Power Platform solutions (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, Dataverse).
- Help set up and run the pipeline that moves agentic solutions safely from sandbox to enterprise (production).
- Support continuous validation of Microsoft 365 Copilot, first-party agents and Copilot Studio through a structured testing framework, with regular playbacks and demos.
- Write clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, test cases and adoption notes.
- Help manage risks, dependencies, issues and changes on your workstream.
- Keep your work focused on measurable business outcomes and help track the benefits.
Adoption and enablement
- Help clients adopt AI, not just build it — support enablement roadmaps and the path to production for Microsoft AI tooling.
- Run and support live demos and workshops — including building agents live — to build confidence and drive usage.
- Support rollout from pilot to everyday (business-as-usual) use, with consistent governance across teams.
Working with Microsoft
This is part of the role. You will:
- Build good working relationships with Microsoft Account, STU and GBB contacts.
- Bring Microsoft in during design to check platform fit and find co-sell / co-build opportunities.
- Align your work to Microsoft's priority workloads and reference architectures.
- Use STU and GBB specialists during build for expert platform input, technical validation and to unblock issues.
- Support joint account planning, client briefings and solution showcases.
Team and client
- Be a reliable day-to-day contact for client teams on your workstream.
- Prepare clear materials for working sessions, playbacks and reviews.
- Guide analysts and junior colleagues on your workstream.
- Manage your own tasks, quality and timelines, and flag risks early.
- Contribute to proposals, pitches and follow-on ideas.
Skills and attributes for success
- Experience in consulting, technology or transformation, ideally including financial services.
- Hands-on experience delivering with Microsoft AI and low-code tools — especially Copilot Studio, Cowork (bonus), Microsoft 365 Copilot and the Power Platform.
- Experience building solutions end-to-end, from design through to a working product.
- Experience running or supporting AI and agent assessments — current state, target state and business case.
- Experience building custom Copilot Studio agents, and helping move solutions from sandbox to enterprise.
- Some experience supporting client workshops and working with stakeholders.
- An understanding of regulated financial services and the controls needed to deliver change there.
- Experience with agile or product-based delivery, and building MVPs, pilots or proofs of concept.
- Awareness of responsible AI, data governance, GDPR and AI governance.
- Awareness of Microsoft security and governance for AI — Entra ID and Microsoft Purview (sensitivity labels, DLP, auditability).
- An interest in helping others adopt AI — demos, training and enablement.
To qualify for the role;
- Hands-on delivery of technology-led change.
- Building and testing custom agents and automations on Microsoft platforms.
- Working alongside Microsoft co-sell / co-build teams.
- Cost modelling and business-case inputs.
- Workshop support and clear stakeholder communication.
- Structured problem solving and clear thinking.
- Turning business needs into practical AI-enabled solutions.
- Presenting and demoing in plain language.
- Growing financial services domain knowledge.
- Managing your own tasks, risks, quality and timelines.
- Supporting and guiding junior colleagues.
What we look for
- Copilot Studio — design, build and test custom agents, and help move them safely from sandbox to enterprise.
- Cowork — design and build skills, connectors, and understand how the Microsoft harness can leverage different Frontier Models.
- Microsoft 365 Copilot & first-party agents — help deploy, validate and drive adoption through structured testing and enablement.
- Power Platform — Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI and Dataverse for automation, apps and reporting.
- Entra ID — understand identity and access (who can use what) so agents and apps are secure by design.
- Microsoft Purview — apply governance, sensitivity labels, data loss prevention (DLP) and auditability for responsible, compliant AI.
- Azure AI (helpful) — Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Foundry for enterprise AI applications.
