Job Description

At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence.

We’ll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go.

Join EY and help to build a better working world.

Digital assets in the UK are entering a more practical phase, moving beyond pilots towards real products, operating models and market infrastructure. That shift is creating important strategic choices for financial institutions across banking, markets, payments, wealth and asset management. It’s creating phenomenal market momentum and transformation potential.

Within EY’s Financial Services FinTech team, we’re looking to expand our team to help clients navigate this transition and turn momentum into tangible outcomes. You will contribute to the delivery of high profile and complex engagements across a wide range of financial services clients.

The opportunity
At EY, we see a significant opportunity to help shape the future of financial services by bringing together the best of FinTech innovation, deep sector knowledge, strategic relationships and transformational delivery capabilities.

Digital assets are increasingly moving from experimentation toward practical application across financial services. This is creating new opportunities — and new strategic choices — for firms across banking, capital markets, payments, wealth and asset management, and insurance. Clients are exploring how digital assets and related technologies can support new products, new operating models, enhanced infrastructure, and more efficient movement, servicing and custody of assets and money.

Against this backdrop, EY is continuing to invest in its FinTech and Digital Assets propositions. We are looking for a Senior Consultant to help develop our market position in this space, with a particular focus on digital assets from a product, innovation and commercialisation perspective.

You will sit within the Financial Services FinTech team, working closely with leadership across Banking & Capital Markets, Wealth & Asset Management, Insurance and Payments, as well as colleagues from strategy, risk, technology, operations, tax and regulatory teams. You will play a leading role in helping clients understand where digital assets are becoming relevant, how they translate into business value, and what it takes to execute effectively.

Your key responsibilities
Your contribution will play a significant part in helping clients navigate the rapidly evolving digital assets landscape and deliver practical outcomes at scale. You will operate across the full lifecycle — from market assessment and strategic advisory through to target-state design, mobilisation and implementation — while helping to build EY’s profile and relevance in this area.

  • Conduct market assessments, peer benchmarking and trends identification to define the status quo.
  • Perform current state analysis and gap assessments to reach target state, including identifying and implementing remediation actions.
  • Develop current state and future state target operating and commercial model designs.
  • Define the product roadmap, including the definition of the vision, business benefits and use cases.
  • Support the development of business and technical requirements for product development.
  • Support the implementation of new products and/or platforms.
  • Lead workstreams within complex, multidisciplinary engagements spanning strategy, risk, regulation, technology, transformation and operations, ensuring high-quality delivery and strong client outcomes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (technology, regulatory, compliance) to deliver holistic client solutions.

Skills and attributes for success
We are looking for individuals with a combination of the following:

  • Experience in digital assets, ideally with exposure to areas such as tokenisation, stablecoins, digital custody, blockchain-enabled payments, market infrastructure, digital asset servicing, or broader blockchain-enabled financial products
  • A strong understanding of how digital assets intersect with the priorities of financial institutions, including growth, product innovation, distribution, operating model change, infrastructure modernisation, risk management and regulatory evolution
  • Experience leading complex transformation, innovation or strategy work within financial services, FinTech, digital assets, market infrastructure or consulting

To qualify for the role you should ideally have

  • Experience delivering complex strategic, innovation or transformation work for major financial services clients
  • Experience gained in one or more of the following environments:
    • a leading consulting firm
