Job Description

At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence.

Senior Consultant - AI Tech Transformation - TC - FS

The opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Consultant specializing in generative AI to help design and build GenAI solutions for our clients. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role: you will build key solution components, support the overall architecture, and work directly with client teams to move solutions into production. It is an excellent role for a strong engineer growing into architecture and client-facing leadership.

Your key responsibilities

Hands-On Delivery

  • Build and deliver GenAI solution components: RAG pipelines, prompt orchestration, tool-calling integrations, and APIs.
  • Support the solution architecture and contribute to design decisions within your components.
  • Ensure your components are reliable, secure, performant, and cost-aware.
  • Contribute to delivery execution: implementation, testing, debugging, and resolution of technical issues.
  • Apply engineering standards, reusable frameworks, and accelerators in your work.
  • Take ownership of the quality and timeliness of your deliverables.

Technical Contribution

  • Implement generative AI solutions using LLMs, RAG pipelines, prompt orchestration, and agentic workflows.
  • Build components for insurance use cases (claims intake automation, submission triage, document intelligence, underwriting copilots, policy Q&A, contact-center copilots).
  • Implement and tune RAG: chunking, embeddings, vector stores, retrieval tuning, and grounding to reduce hallucination.
  • Develop multi-agent and tool-calling workflows for insurance processes.
  • Apply LLMOps and quality practices: prompt engineering, evaluation, guardrails, monitoring, and cost/latency optimization.
  • Apply responsible AI practices: hallucination controls, PII handling, and compliance-aware handling of sensitive data.
  • Support integration with core insurance platforms (Guidewire, Duck Creek, Sapiens) and enterprise data/content systems.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work directly with client teams to deliver solutions and resolve technical questions.
  • Explain technical decisions, tradeoffs, and progress clearly to project team members and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and support demos and technical walkthroughs.
  • Collaborate across engineering, data, and business stakeholders during delivery.
  • Support and guide junior consultants where needed.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong hands-on engineering skills and eagerness to grow into architecture.
  • A delivery mindset with attention to quality and detail.
  • Clear communication and a collaborative, client-facing attitude.
  • Curiosity and a fast learning pace in a rapidly evolving field.

To qualify for the role;

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in technology delivering software or data solutions, including hands-on work on at least two GenAI or AI/ML projects (with ~1 year of GenAI experience).
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or open-weight models like Llama/Mistral) and orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, or equivalent).
  • Practical experience with RAG, embeddings, and vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector, Azure AI Search).
  • Familiarity with agentic architectures, function/tool calling, and structured outputs.
  • Prompt engineering and evaluation experience, with awareness of guardrails and safety.
  • Experience with at least one cloud GenAI platform (Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI).
  • Solid programming skills and understanding of API design and integration patterns.
  • Awareness of responsible AI and secure handling of sensitive data.
  • Good communication skills, able to explain technical work clearly.

The following will be an advantage;

  • Exposure to GenAI or AI/ML solutions in insurance or financial services.
  • Familiarity with insurance document workflows (ACORD forms, loss runs, policy documents).
  • Experience contributing to solutions moving from proof-of-concept toward production.
  • Relevant cloud or AI certifications.
