About the role:
Okay, we’ve waffled long enough. So let’s get to the good bit: You.
- You’re keen to progress your career as an experienced supply chain professional, working to deliver a substantial change agenda for a dynamic company with ambitious plans for growth
- You’re an accomplished senior supply planner with experience of supply planning, operational procurement and inventory performance optimisation for consumer products
- You’ve worked collaboratively with multiple commercial, operational and finance colleagues to generate your own supply plan nurturing impactful relationships with key stakeholders
- You’ve partnered with external manufacturers and suppliers on a global basis to share long term forecasts and place orders, expediting and influencing to ensure delivery commitments are honoured.
- You are passionate about protecting “available to promise” and are adept at exerting internal and external influence to secure appropriate inventory.
- You are commercially fluent and experience at balancing working capital and stock availability targets having created budgets and monitored performance against these
- You’re comfortable with the inherent challenges of long lead times and have manipulated supply parameters to optimise stock availability whilst adhering to inventory targets
- You have freight knowledge and experience in multiple shipping methods, including air, sea and any hybrids
- You’ve worked in an environment that is fast paced with challenging but achievable targets and an accelerated introduction of new products into new markets.
- You are comfortable excelling in business as usual and delivering change from a process and technical perspective
- You’re proficient on ERP systems and have used MRP functionality
Location: Hybrid working; a mix of working from our Bristol or London office & working remotely
Employment type: 9 month FTC (please note, you must have the right to work in the UK)
What you’ll be doing
- You’ll be reporting into the Global S&OP Manager and be part of a wider operational team encompassing logistics, fulfilment and procurement
- Your responsibility and accountability will include the creation, publication and measuring of a supply plan for all Elvie products in all channels for all geographical regions from all third party manufacturers.
- You will be obsessive about vendor performance and stock availability, challenging and influencing to deliver working capital and customer service targets.
- Working with suppliers to build strong influencer relationships, becoming a clear subject matter expert and understanding their constraints with capacity, raw materials and componentry
- The ownership timeline of your supply plan is from “cradle to grave” - from budgeting 2 years in advance to monitoring arrival and subsequent availability to promise
- Your accountability will include the maintenance of inventory between agreed targets, and in particular the daily communication with internal colleagues highlighting any stock risks
- You’ll proactively engage with a number of functions to refine and improve your supply plan
- You’ll be using designated tools that generate purchase requirements, based on planning parameters you will be maintaining
- Your role will facilitate successful new product introductions and expansion of existing products into new markets, as well as fine tuning products that may be cannibalised as a result
- You will be responsible for developing the supply planning technical capability across 3 platforms - ERP, Bespoke planning tool and BI solution.
- You will lead the monthly vendor reviews, presenting status updates, projected challenges and performance metrics
Requirements
- We’re looking for a person with an analytical bias and also a proactive and confident communicator and presenter.
- To bring expert analysis by creating scenarios depicting possible outcomes, having conviction in your recommendations for action and selection. This will involve presentation to senior stakeholders and “on your feet” thinking and mental agility.
- We are also looking for somebody who can influence and is adept at sharing information and building an internal and external network of important stakeholders
- We would like you to be tenacious in securing the best possible delivery dates, constantly monitoring and resolving delays.
- Using data, you will be comfortable challenging others to gain the best outcome for Elvie
- Project Management capability (light touch) to progress change initiatives and identify/overcome blockers to time, scope or quality.
- Another important trait is to be constantly inquisitive, relentlessly focussing on gleaning more insight into the category, systems and suppliers - researching and seeking support from Elvie colleagues
- We’re in the process of developing processes and systems so need somebody who is flexible and adaptable and willing to lead us develop quickly to support rapid planned growth
- You thrive in an entrepreneurial workspace, being highly self motivated and willing to immerse yourself in all things Elvie to develop your capability
- Experience of demand planning would be beneficial but not essential as this role works very closely with supply planning and some cross cover is envisaged
