About the Role

Retail Media is transforming how advertisers connect with consumers through personalised and targeted campaigns across retailers’ digital and physical touchpoints. As an Engineering Manager within Tesco Media, you will lead a team of engineers responsible for building and scaling technology solutions that enable advertisers and retailers to measure and optimise campaign performance. This role combines technical leadership, people management and delivery excellence. You will work closely with Product, Design and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality software while creating an environment where engineers can grow, collaborate and perform at their best.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll play a key role in shaping both the technical direction of the team and the development of the people within it.

• Lead, coach and support a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Product Managers and stakeholders to define priorities, translate business needs into technical solutions and ensure successful delivery.
• Drive engineering excellence through modern software development practices, quality standards, testing strategies and CI/CD adoption.
• Support architectural decisions that promote scalability, reliability, security and maintainability across products and platforms.
• Create an inclusive environment that encourages innovation, knowledge sharing and professional development.

What We're Looking For

You'll be a people-focused leader with a strong technical foundation and a passion for building great teams and products.

• Experience leading software engineering teams in an Agile environment from an Adtech, Retail Media OR Saas background
• Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, architecture and cloud-native application development.
• Ability to balance technical decision-making with business priorities and customer outcomes.
• Proven capability to develop talent through coaching, mentoring and performance support.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions.
