Job Description
Territory Sales Manager (North East)
Join us in our mission to transform the way people shop and eat, where impact, innovation, and growth drives everything we do. Our Commercial team sits at the centre of Deliveroo’s marketplace—shaping how we serve restaurants, grocers, and new verticals worldwide. From negotiating key partnerships to unlocking new revenue streams and crafting data-led growth strategies, we take on big challenges that move the business forward. If you thrive in fast-paced, commercial environments and want to influence the future of a global brand—this is the team for you.
We’re looking for a Territory Sales Manager to join our North East team. In this role, you’ll lead a high-performing sales team to dominate local markets and identify unique growth opportunities across Newcastle, Middlesbrough, and Sunderland.
Get to know our Commercial team — what drives us, how we work, and what you can expect.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be joining the UK & Ireland Regional team. We are the experts in the local markets we serve, overseeing all three sides of our marketplace—restaurants, consumers, and riders—to bring the best selection to our customers across the North East.
Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:
Drive Regional Performance: Act as the business owner for Growth KPIs and Customer Value Proposition (CVP) metrics across Newcastle, Middlesbrough, and Sunderland.
Lead and Coach: Manage and develop a sales team of nine, providing the coaching and structure needed to consistently hit monthly targets.
Strategic Market Mapping: Identify cuisine gaps and top-tier partners to build precise plans that improve our competitive edge in your specific cities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Set clear priorities for Account Managers on hyper-local metrics, including signage, menu completeness, and rejection rates.
Execute Tactical Activations: Lead "guerrilla" marketing activity and in-person activations to maximise brand visibility and partner potential.
What You’ll Need to Thrive
Essential
Proven Commercial Impact: A track record of delivering outstanding results in account management, sales, or strategy roles.
Leadership Experience: Demonstrable skills in leading direct reports or driving results through coaching, mentoring, and project leadership.
Data Literacy: Comfortable using data to analyse restaurant and city performance to identify and act on areas for improvement.
Operational Autonomy: A self-starter mindset with the ability to manage a split schedule (3–4 days field-based in the North East, 1–2 days office/home-based).
Strategic Acumen: Strong commercial awareness with the ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
Nice to Have
Deep knowledge of the North East hospitality and restaurant landscape.
Experience executing hyper-local or guerrilla marketing campaigns.
