Job Description

Business Development Manager (Rome) — 12-Month FTC

Join us in our mission to transform the way people shop and eat, where impact, innovation, and growth drive everything we do. Our Commercial team sits at the heart of Deliveroo’s marketplace—shaping how we serve restaurants, grocers, and new verticals worldwide. From negotiating key partnerships to unlocking new revenue streams and crafting data-led growth strategies, we take on big challenges that move the business forward. If you thrive in fast-paced, commercial environments and want to influence the future of a global brand—this is the team for you.

We’re looking for Business Development Managers to join our team in Rome on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a rare opportunity to become a founding member of a growing, well-funded company, collaborating with Italy's most premium and regarded restaurants.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be joining the Regional Sales team, reporting to the Sales Lead. You will be the face of Deliveroo in Rome, acting as an area-level expert who knows exactly what local customers crave.

  • Strategic Prospecting: Map, prospect, pitch, and close new restaurant partners across Rome in a highly organized fashion.

  • Technology Advocacy: Communicate via physical visits, calls, emails, and social media to demonstrate the value of Deliveroo’s technology to local business owners.

  • Partner Support: Act as a consultant for restaurant owners and managers, helping them overcome barriers to entry and providing a seamless joining experience.

  • Market Immersion: Stay at the forefront of the Roman food scene by attending industry meet-ups and tracking up-and-coming culinary trends.

  • Negotiation: Navigate commercial discussions to ensure win-win outcomes for both our partners and Deliveroo.

What You’ll Need to Thrive

Our ideal candidate is a tenacious "hunter" who enjoys the challenge of building new business:

  • Sales Grit: Proven experience in sales with a focus on targeting and acquiring new business.

  • Communication Mastery: High confidence in dealing with partners face-to-face, over the phone, or via digital channels.

  • Negotiation Skills: Ability to handle objections and structure commercial deals effectively.

  • Industry Knowledge: A strong understanding of the restaurant industry is a significant plus.

  • Tenacity: A self-starter mindset with the resilience to pursue opportunities in a competitive market.

Why Join Us?

At Deliveroo, you’ll solve complex real-time challenges in an industry that is redefining convenience. Working here you can expect:

  • 🚀 Make a Visible Impact: Your work directly shapes the culinary selection available to customers in Rome.

  • 🌱 Entrepreneurial Pace: Work with a high degree of autonomy and ownership in a fast-moving environment.

  • 🧠 Professional Growth: Gain experience with a global technology leader at the forefront of the food-tech industry.
