Job Description

The Team & Role

Editions is Deliveroo’s global network of delivery-only kitchens, offering restaurant partners a flexible platform for expansion and giving customers greater choice and a seamless delivery experience. We work with some of Deliveroo’s most exciting partners and are the market leader in delivery-only kitchens.

We’re looking for a Commercial Sales Manager to join our Editions Team. In this role you will be responsible for setting and delivering the Editions acquisition strategy. You will drive forward the prospecting, closing and onboarding of new restaurants into our Editions kitchens, helping merchants expand their footprint and bring the best selection to more locations across the UK.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be joining the UK Editions team, our largest and most established delivery kitchen market. Reporting directly to the Head of Editions, you will lead our acquisition strategy in Editions, growing the number of brands that use a delivery kitchen. You will also be responsible for coaching and supporting a junior sales executive.

Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:

  • Setting the Acquisition Strategy: Working cross functionally with other commercial teams to identify the best Editions targets and translating that into a prioritised pipeline and engagement plan for yourself and the sales executive

  • Negotiate Strategic Deals: Pitch, negotiate and close high profile Editions deals, working with commercial teams to structure complex proposals and win-win deals that achieve the best outcomes for both our partners and Editions

  • Onboarding Excellence: Ensure new partners are set up for success by selling-in marketing packages and ensuring menu completeness at go-live

  • Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate with Regional Directors and Managers to translate how newly acquired Editions partners support their regional strategy

  • Building the Sales Engine: Ensuring we have best in class tooling to prospect, pitch, close and onboard merchants as effectively and efficiently as possible

Requirements

Essential

  • An ability to consistently hit and exceed targets: a proven track record in sales roles of beating demanding targets.

  • Negotiation Mastery: Proven ability to structure complex deals and navigate high-stakes negotiations with business owners.

  • Salesforce & Process Rigour: Experience role-modelling best-in-class CRM behaviours (Salesforce) and managing a disciplined sales pipeline.

  • Coaching & Development: Demonstrated ability to coach sales best practice in other team members

Nice to have

  • Industry Knowledge: A deep understanding of the economics of food delivery and the challenges facing the restaurant industry today, especially in delivery kitchens.
