Job Outline:

We are looking for a qualified lawyer to join our Completions Operations team as Legal Counsel for a maternity cover. This role will be responsible for managing the completion of Crowdcube funding rounds and supporting Crowdcube’s post-funding team.

The role is based in our Exeter office.

What you will be doing:

As Legal Counsel in the Completions Operations team you will have responsibility for the management of the completion of Crowdcube funding rounds and supporting Crowdcube’s post-funding team. You’ll work closely with all other departments including Compliance, Investor Operations, and the Campaigns and Commercial teams.

Day to day you will:

  • Carry out legal reviews and preparation of documents

  • Manage the completion and post-completion process

  • Work closely with the Compliance team and the Campaigns team to ensure effective transfer of information to avoid duplication of questions through the process.

  • Assist Head of Completion Operations with:

  • Develop processes (with and without product support) for improving the efficiency of dealing with company completions

  • Work with the Product team to improve the experience for companies completing rounds or corporate events on Crowdcube, including improvements to the portfolio and other new product offerings

  • improve company content, FAQs and communications.

  • Work closely with Group Legal on new product releases / new opportunities which require legal input.

Ideally you will have:

  • PQE 3+

  • Experience of corporate/equity finance, negotiation of transaction documents, EIS and SEIS tax relief schemes

  • Experience of working in-house

And you are:

  • Comfortable making risk-based judgments that are commercially sound, balancing the interests of Crowdcube, investors and raising companies.

  • Used to working in a fast-paced and ever changing environment and know when to fight for the right thing and when to say no.

  • Great at building relationships with external and internal clients, you know how to listen to and influence others so that expectations are managed and the right outcomes are met.
