Centrica LNG is an established LNG trading business within the Group’s Energy organisation. At our core Centrica Energy is a 800+ strong physical energy trader, with office hubs in London, Denmark and Singapore, and the platform to trade across LNG, gas, power and energy attributes – connecting producers and offtakers in the wholesale energy markets.

Centrica LNG’s innovative and successful business model is built around a portfolio of long-term flexible offtake and supply to major markets globally as well as exceptional relationships with key global LNG players.

The LNG Business Development / Origination team is responsible for originating, creating and executing mid and long-term LNG deals that builds the portfolio which is able to generate P&L for the LNG desk. It is a tight-knit, entrepreneurial team with global coverage and has delivered impressive portfolio growth in the past 5 years.

As a Senior LNG Originator you will be able to build and maintain external relationships to maximise LNG counterparty coverage and the growth of Centrica LNG’s market footprint. Being commercially astute and a self-starter you will identify, structure, articulate and execute LNG transactions to grow and manage the risks of the LNG portfolio beyond the prompt trading horizon. Close coordination is required with the LNG Trading team, Operations team and other support functions, and the individual is expected to be a team-player that is able to foster a collaborative and open working environment across the LNG team.

This role is based out of our London office (near to Marble Arch) with c3 days per week typically based in the office.

We have a few must-haves:

• Extensive experience of trading/origination within LNG, gained within an oil and gas major, utility or commodity trading house

• Excellent understanding of the LNG market and its commercial and operational characteristics

• Proven track record of deal execution and existing network of LNG industry contacts

• Strong interpersonal skills and customer presence

• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills

• Analytical with strong attention to detail

• International mind-set and able to work effectively in other cultures

• Availability to travel internationally.
