Overview
To work with the Rotating Equipment TA within the Engineering team, providing technical support to operations, projects and maintenance. This technical support role requires a broad range of knowledge across a number of discipline boundaries including, rotating equipment, controls and instrumentation, process, fire and gas, maintenance, and piping as these relate to the packaged equipment.
The primary focus of this work is operation and maintenance support for the installed onshore gas turbine driven, gas compression train, reciprocating compressors and pumps and offshore diesel power generation, pumps and similar equipment. This will include trouble shooting equipment breakdowns, review and remediation of historical supply or process change issues
To also provide support, when required and within experience, to the Mechanical Engineering Team. Project support to internal / 3rd party interface, to assure future and ongoing projects meet Centrica Storage standards and are integrated into existing assets, safely and efficiently. To assure all rotating equipment is installed and maintained in accordance with latest relevant technical and health and safety standards and assurance requirements.
Location – Woodland House, Hull – flexible working with a mix of office and home working
Travel – Between Hessle office and Easington Terminal. May require trips offshore
Key Accountabilities
- Participate in Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies
- Participate in MoC risk assessments, either by proposing change itself or providing assessment of the implications of change.
- Define and manage small rotating equipment related project work scopes through third parties.
- Investigation of operational issues, (production loss reports, safety events proposing solutions and ensuring satisfactory completions
- Produce and update maintenance standard procedures associated with rotating or package equipment.
- Review and respond to IVB observations.
- Review and comment on project workscopes relating to rotating and packaged equipment.
- Participate in internal audits and technical assurance to British, International and company standards and procedures, relating to both rotating equipment and cross discipline work procedures.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- HND / HNC or Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar appropriate discipline
- Oil and gas / similar, in industry experience, in a COMAH operational site environment working with package equipment.
- Logical approach to problem solving
- Wide range of mechanical and all round engineering skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills working in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Technical report writing.
