About your role:

Reporting to the Infrastructure HSE Director, the Process Safety Manager will play a key role in driving continuous improvement in Process Safety across the infrastructure portfolio. You will build strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Asset Management and Operational teams, to ensure robust safety performance and regulatory compliance. Success in this role requires excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to influence, guide, and support others to achieve high standards of Process Safety.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Lead the management and ongoing development of Offshore Safety Cases and Onshore COMAH reports, ensuring all material changes are submitted to the Competent Authority in line with business requirements. Oversee external studies where needed to support these submissions.

  • Own and deliver the Process Safety Improvement Plan, ensuring clear priorities, measurable progress, and alignment with business objectives.

  • Support site teams in the creation, review, and continual improvement of Operational Risk Assessments.

  • Contribute to Process Engineering studies including HAZID, HAZOP and SIL assessments, and support comprehensive reviews of regulatory safety cases and COMAH documentation.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for Technical Authorities and operational teams on all Process Safety matters.

  • Develop and deliver Process Safety training to operational personnel, promoting strong safety culture and competence.

  • Provide line management, guidance, and professional development for Process Safety specialist(s).

Here's what we’re looking for:

  • Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering.

  • Chartered Member of IChemE.

  • Valid Offshore Medical.

  • Offshore BOSIET certification.

  • Experience working within major accident hazard industries.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for major accident hazard sites (onshore and offshore).

  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to influence effectively at all levels of the organisation.

  • Ability to coach, mentor, and encourage positive safety behaviours.

  • Strong analytical capability and sound, evidence-based decision making.

  • Highly motivated, proactive, and pragmatic, with a strong sense of personal leadership and accountability.
