About your role:

As the One Stop Shop (OSS) Quantity Surveyor, you’ll work closely with our project lead to provide quotations and schedules of works to suit individual private dwelling energy upgrade works.

You’ll be responsible for managing the tender process with our panel of approved contractors, including preparing tender documents, evaluating contractor submissions, and making recommendations. You’ll establish procedures with our project lead to streamline day-to-day operations. You’ll assist the team with procurement needs as they arise, monitor site progress, and deal with valuations/claims as they develop.

You’ll regularly review and update our contractor panel to suit our needs. You’ll prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets and cash flow forecasts for retrofit works and projects. You’ll also identify and mitigate risks related to costs, contracts, timelines and project delivery.

Here's what we’re looking for:

  • Relevant Qualification(s) in either Quantity Surveying / Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in the construction or utilities sector.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, cost control, and financial forecasting related to retrofit and construction works.
  • Experience in cost management techniques and procurement processes.
  • Experience in residential sector and ideally retrofit industry dealing with all involved stakeholders from clients/homeowners through to primary contractors and sub-contractors
  • Have a good understanding of tender contracts and obligations of all stake holders.
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly in reviewing and validating invoices and financial transactions.
  • Proven negotiation skills and the ability to manage vendor and supplier relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with sustainable procurement practices within the construction sector.
  • Specific retrofit and energy upgrade knowledge.
  • Experience/Exposure to SEAI Scheme Grant Processes and SEAI Scheme Regulations.
