Bord Gáis Energy is uniquely positioned to drive positive change and we have an opportunity, as well as a responsibility, to reshape our future. We’re powered by our purpose, and we all play a vital role in energising a greener, fairer future. While there are challenges ahead, we are dedicated to supporting our consumers and colleagues, to rethinking power generation, and to supporting an affordable and fair transition for all.

Role Purpose:

The Digital Marketing Executive role on the Digital Marketing and wider Marketing team, within Energy, Marketing & Data division and now also playing a crucial role in our growing Services & Solutions business, is a critical role with a specific skill set that continues to grow in importance as our focus on driving online performance grows to achieve our business targets, as well as a pivotal role in transforming the brand in our marketing approach.

This role is essential for executing campaigns (performance digital campaigns as well as all integrated marketing communications campaigns); fostering customer engagement on social media channels; and strategically optimising digital marketing campaigns, on-site journeys, and creative and content to drive online performance and meet our key KPIs.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Pioneering and steering digital strategies that not only build robust and lasting digital connections with customers but also consistently deliver on commercial targets, brand objectives, and business KPIs for Energy and S&S divisions.

  • Paid Social Media Expertise – evolving our in-house ad strategy to one of cost-saving strategies and driving continuous creative campaigns for in-house paid social media activity across various verticals including consumer acquistion, brand, and sponsorship. We work with agencies for campaigns, but paid social media inhouse is also key to this role to support and manage agencies.

  • Agency Collaboration and driving creative - Instead of just assisting, this role plays an integral part in collaborating with agencies, leading discussions on campaign optimisations ensuring a balance between creativity and efficiency.
  • Produce in-depth analytical reports on our social media activities, transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive further innovation and creative strategies.
  • Actively leads and innovates the promotion of Rewards offers on social media, ensuring more reach and engagement, and fostering retention of our customer base to avoid losses – a key business KPI - and manages all creative weekly for promotion in-house, making huge agency savings.
  • Continues to evolve the brand representation at critical brand events like GAA, Shine A Light with Focus Ireland and Bord Gáis Energy Theatre events, capturing the essence of these events (sometimes after hours or weekends for a spell of time) and translating them into shareable content that drive engagement across our social media channels.

Knowledge Skills & Experience:

  • Proven track record in planning and executing successful digital marketing campaigns.

As one of Ireland’s leading energy and services companies, we’re on a journey of transformation; to accelerate our positive impact and bring our customers on this journey with us. As we look to the future we're transforming our energy supply, services and solutions in order to become a leading net zero business in Ireland by 2045 and to help our customers reach net zero by 2050. Our ambition is to use our services, footprint and propositions to better both people and planet

Bord Gáis Energy are committed to placing equality, diversity, care and respect at the heart of our policies and everyday practices. We encourage everyone to take part in our active employee networks, including the Women's network, REACH (Race, Ethnicity, & Cultural Heritage) network, Neurodiversity network, and BRÓD, our LGBTQ+ network. You can enjoy the convenience of working from home combined with time spent onsite in a way that works for our customers, our business and you. Our office is used as a place to connect and collaborate with colleagues, rather than your default place of work each day.

Here in Bord Gáis Energy we’re helping to create a more sustainable and inclusive future that supports our communities, our planet – and each other. The prevention of family homelessness in Ireland is an area where we believe we can make a real difference and through our partnership with Focus Ireland, we have been working on making this a reality since 2015.
