Job Description

Camunda is the leader in enterprise agentic automation, orchestrating complex business processes, including high-value knowledge work, across agents, people, and systems. By creating production-ready, enterprise-grade agents with built-in governance, Camunda uniquely delivers trusted AI agents for business-critical processes. Over 700 leading innovators like Atlassian, ING, and Vodafone, rely on Camunda to slash time-to-value from months to days, boost operational efficiency, and elevate customer experiences. Camunda was named a Visionary in the inaugural 2025 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Business Orchestration and Automation Technologies (BOAT).

As a fully remote, global company, we’re rewriting the rules of modern business. Named GP Bullhound’s 2024 Top 100 Next Unicorn list, certified as a Great Place to Work, and recognized by Flexa for true flexibility, we’re growing fast and looking for top talent to join our team. If you’re excited to do meaningful work and make real impact, keep reading, this role could be the one you’ve been waiting for.

About the Role:

It is an exciting time to join Camunda as we reimagine how Total Rewards operates. We are at a genuine inflection point: we are actively building toward an AI-first, orchestrated Total Rewards function, one where strategic insight drives every decision and manual process work is systematically enhanced or replaced through intelligent tooling. This is both our current focus and our future vision, and this role sits right at the centre of that journey.
As a Total Rewards Analyst / Total Rewards Specialist, you will be both architect and operator. You will design and evolve the future state of how we work while executing in the present, helping us determine which work humans do best, which work AI can amplify, and how to build processes that free our small but mighty team to focus on what has the highest impact on the employee experience. You will have real influence on that design, not just compliance with it.

This role is for someone who thrives at the intersection of operational excellence and strategic innovation. You enjoy diving into market data and building models one day, and partnering with a People Business Partner on a sensitive compensation conversation the next. You are energised by the idea of helping shape how a company invests in and recognises its people, and you are excited to do that in an async, remote-first environment where we move quickly and trust each other to get things done. If you are passionate about creating meaningful reward experiences and want to be part of building something genuinely special, this is your opportunity to make your mark.

You will report to our Senior Manager, Total Rewards, and work closely with our Total Rewards Coordinator, People Business Partners, and Finance teams across our global footprint of 35+ countries.

What you'll be doing:

  • Global Compensation & Equity Stewardship, Architecting for Intelligence

    • Own end-to-end maintenance of our global job catalog, salary structures, and VSOP administration across 35+ countries. Lead our annual benchmarking cycle using Comptryx and Radford, translating market data into competitive positioning recommendations. Proactively audit compensation data to maintain internal parity and equity across all entities. Administer our VSOP program on Ledgy, ensuring grant processes are seamless and accurate. As we build toward an AI-augmented function, you will also identify where data processes can be enhanced, surfacing insights that currently require significant manual analysis and helping us prototype smarter approaches.

  • Global Benefits Strategy & Compliance Partnership

    • Serve as the strategic support for our diverse benefits ecosystem across AMER, EMEA, and APAC markets. Work closely with our Total Rewards Coordinator, who owns the day-to-day administration, while you focus on compliance architecture and complex escalations. Navigate our broker and vendor relationships (Sequoia, BAS, Remote, and others), helping to hold partners accountable to high-quality service delivery. You will also think ahead ,identifying where tooling or other enhancements could help us predict employee needs, detect coverage gaps, or reduce enrollment friction before problems emerge.

  • Strategic Insights & Data Storytelling

    • Move beyond data preparation to becoming an insights generator. Analyse pay equity, merit cycles, VSOP participation, and benefits utilisation to tell the story of what the data is saying about our employee experience. Identify friction points and trends before they become problems, providing forward-looking solutions to the leadership team.

  • Process Architecture & Continuous Improvement

    • Partner with our Total Rewards Coordinator to identify and eliminate bottlenecks in our BAU workflows ,the shared inbox, equity grants, lifecycle changes, vendor escalations, and more. Design and implement systems alongside our People Operations and People Tech teams that improve operational efficiency and elevate the Camundi experience. Take a deliberate eye to everything we do: where is manual toil unnecessary? What can be automated? What requires human judgment and care? How do we maintain oversight into our various processes to ensure equitable and repeatable outcomes? You will help us answer those questions and, in partnership with the TR coordinator, build the processes that reflect those answers.

  • Human-Centered Communication & Advisory Partnership

    • Craft communications that translate technical Total Rewards concepts into clear, empathetic, and actionable guidance ,whether drafting executive-ready summaries on VSOP value, employee-facing benefits guides, or sensitive compensation communications. Partner closely with People Business Partners to ensure the ‘why’ and the human impact behind our rewards decisions are always understood and visible. Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and leaders navigating compensation exceptions, equity considerations, and benefits questions ,bringing both data rigour and human empathy to every conversation.

What you bring:

  • Ability and/or willingness to use our product.

  • Global TR & Equity Experience:

    • You have a proven track record (5+ years) in a Total Reward or Compensation role within a multi-country, fast-paced environment. You have successfully executed complex annual merit, bonus, and benchmarking cycles at scale, demonstrating high attention to detail and strong project management. Critically, your experience is integrated ,you have worked across compensation, benefits, and equity/VSOP together, not in silos.

  • Global & US Benefits Expertise:

    • You possess an understanding or at least exposure to the benefits strategy and compliance landscape in the USA and globally. You are comfortable navigating US-based plans (ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, HSA, FSA) alongside statutory and supplementary plans in EMEA (Germany, UK, Ireland, Netherlands) and APAC (Singapore and Australia). You understand how EOR arrangements (like Remote) affect benefits delivery globally.

  • AI-Curious & Digitally Literate:

    • You are genuinely excited by the potential of AI to transform how Total Rewards teams work. You do not need to be a technical expert, but you are curious, adaptable, and eager to explore how tools like AI-driven analytics, workflow automation, purpose built AI agents and intelligent platforms can enhance your work. You are comfortable experimenting, evaluating, and recommending new approaches and learning new tools.

  • Proactive Problem Solver:

    • You do not wait for a bug to be reported. You see a manual process and find a way to automate or tidy it. You thrive in an asynchronous, remote-first culture and are comfortable moving projects forward across time zones ,whether that means recording a zoom clip/loom, writing a tight async brief, or knowing when to make a call independently vs escalating to your manager rather than waiting for direction.

  • Analytical Rigour:

    • Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills are a must, but your real strength is your ability to interpret data and present solutions that balance data with human impact. You move from ‘here is the number’ to ‘here is what it means and what we should do about it’ and ‘this is why you should care’ without being asked.

  • Empathetic Communication Excellence:

    • You can write a TL;DR that a busy employee loves, but you prioritise making rewards and equity information accessible, supportive, and meaningful. You are as comfortable in a sensitive one-on-one conversation with a manager as you are presenting a comp framework to a more senior leader.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with VSOP or similar phantom equity schemes

  • Hands-on experience with Ledgy (equity platform) and HiBob (HRIS)

  • Experience coordinating global benefit offerings with local vendors across multiple regions

  • Prior exposure to AI tooling in an HR or Total Rewards context

  • You have experience managing and holding international benefit brokers and service providers accountable, ensuring high-quality service delivery and acting as a strategic partner.
