About the role

The Agile Delivery Manager works in the Squad day-to-day to drive and manage squad delivery, ensuring adherence to roadmap, time, and budget constraints. They are responsible for coordinating Scrum-oriented activities, including sprint planning, daily Scrums, retrospectives, and refinement. The Agile Delivery Manager facilitates the identification of opportunities to resolve risks and issues relating to delivery and any impact on related squads or tribes. This is a full-time role, primarily working hand-in-hand with the Squads in the Squad area.

What you’ll be doing

1. Leads the day-to-day delivery of the squad, ensuring alignment with the defined roadmap, timeline, and budget constraints.
2. Facilitates key Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily Scrums, retrospectives, and sprint demos, driving team collaboration and efficiency.
3. Partners with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and provide regular progress updates, ensuring squad objectives are achieved.
4. Establishes a performance-driven culture within the squad, ensuring high standards and continuous delivery aligned with business goals.
5. Identifies risks and blockers affecting delivery and coordinates mitigation efforts, ensuring smooth squad operations and minimal disruption across tribes.
6. Maintains an objective approach to troubleshooting, applying Agile principles to resolve challenges and drive delivery success.
7. Drives collaboration across squads to ensure dependencies are managed effectively and delivery is optimized.
8. Works closely with other Agile Delivery Managers and Agile Coaches to enhance the application of Agile practices and foster cross-squad collaboration.
9. Ensures the squad adheres to the delivery roadmap, managing scope, budgets, and timelines to meet business expectations.
10. Fosters a continuous improvement mindset within the squad, promoting learning, innovation, and effective problem-solving.
11. Provides regular reporting on squad progress, highlighting challenges and ensuring transparency with stakeholders to enable timely interventions.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Delivery Execution
    Proven experience in leading day-to-day delivery of telecom products or services, translating vision into clear, achievable delivery plans. Experienced in multiple delivery methodologies. Delivers across the full technical lifecycle to support workstreams that drive commercial outcomes through technology initiatives and solutions.
  • Risk & Dependency Management
    Ability to proactively identify and address internal and external risks, issues, and dependencies, including those outside the immediate team. Effectively manages dependencies, resolves issues, and unblocks delivery challenges.
  • Outcome & Performance Focus
    Drives squads with clarity of outcomes, setting the pace and ensuring alignment toward defined and shared objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Working
    Collaborates across functions to define goals and scope, ensuring structured plans are in place. Builds the right squad composition for the situation and fosters a collaborative, communicative, and inclusive working culture.
  • Organisational Transformation
    Leads change initiatives with a focus on outcomes. Manages stakeholders effectively, ensuring collaboration and alignment from concept through to delivery using established frameworks.
  • Decision Making, Problem Solving & Stakeholder Management
    Acts as the glue between teams and stakeholders, enabling effective communication and decision-making. Influences outcomes and drives positive change within squads.
  • Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
    Strong knowledge of delivery practices with proven experience working in enterprise technology environments across the full SDLC.
  • Delivery Planning
    Leads annual, quarterly, and continuous planning cycles. Translates product vision into executable plans within complex environments. Ensures iterative planning, clear deliverables, defined outcomes, and alignment with squad capacity. Communicates plans, assumptions, and progress effectively.
  • Continuous Improvement & Growth MindsetFosters a culture of learning and continuous improvement. Uses data-driven approaches to measure success, inspect outcomes, and adapt ways of working.
