What you’ll be doing

This is a hands-on, operationally focused role based within the BT Consumer Distribution Centre, working closely with internal teams and supplier partners to make sure the products reaching our customers meet the highest quality and compliance standards.

As a Supplier Relationship Professional, you’ll be part of a team that protects customer experience by identifying issues early, analysing data, and working with suppliers and colleagues to put things right. This role is ideal for someone who is curious, analytical, and comfortable working with people at all levels.

You’ll rotate across different areas of the team to build a broad understanding of supplier quality, compliance, and improvement activity.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting quality compliance activity across suppliers and products within the distribution centre
  • Carrying out product inspection and quality checks, helping to identify faults, trends, and risks
  • Reviewing data, reports, and testing outcomes to spot patterns and opportunities for improvement
  • Working with supplier contacts and internal stakeholders to resolve quality or compliance issues
  • Supporting documentation and process updates in line with quality standards
  • Contributing to continuous improvement projects that improve efficiency, quality, and customer outcomes
  • Building strong working relationships with colleagues across operations, quality, and supply chain teams
  • Learning how decisions are made around product release, rejection, and corrective actions

This is a practical role that combines data analysis, problem-solving, and relationship management in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment . We do not expect you to do everything from the offset. There will be plenty of support in place to achieve this .

What you’ll learn

Alongside your role, you’ll complete a nationally recognised apprenticeship:

  • Level 3 Improvement Technician , progressing to
  • Level 5 Improvement Specialist

You’ll develop skills in:

  • Continuous improvement and problem-solving techniques
  • Data analysis and root cause investigation
  • Quality and compliance principles
  • Stakeholder and supplier relationship management
  • Process improvement methodologies

You’ll spend at least 20% of your time learning and studying, supported by BT, your manager, and your apprenticeship provider.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with the right mindset and potential, rather than previous experience in this exact role.

You’ll be:

  • Naturally curious, with an interest in technology and how products work
  • Comfortable working with data and keen to understand what it’s telling you
  • Confident communicating with people at different levels, from operational teams to supplier contacts
  • Personable, professional, and able to build positive working relationships
  • Organised, with good attention to detail
  • Motivated to learn and develop through an apprenticeship programme

Entry requirements

  • 5 GCSEs at grade 4–9 (or equivalent), including English and Maths
  • 2 A Levels at grade C or above (or equivalent qualifications)
  • Right to work in the UK for the full 4 year duration of the apprenticeship

What’s in it for you?

  • A permanent role combined with a fully funded apprenticeship
  • Hands-on experience in a critical quality and supplier-facing function
  • Clear development pathway through Level 3 and Level 5 improvement qualifications
  • Discounts on BT and EE products
  • Access to wellbeing support, benefits, and learning resources
  • Support to build a long-term career within BT Group
