Why this job matters

The Solution Architect Specialist independently executes a range of workstreams in delivering the overall solution architecture design and mapping of business requirements, as well as organises smooth project delivery empowering the implementation of functional solutions that are fit for purpose and delivered against stated business requirements.

What you’ll be doing

Accountable for architecting industry grade, standard compliant software solutions for Telecom OSS Assurance domain. Role holder shall work very closely with Enterprise and Network Architects and be able to arrive at an uncompromising solution architecture that best suits BT Network Operations needs.

  • Lead OSS Assurance Solution Architecture, Define Roadmap os various assurance tools to align to the journey for transforming BT’s Network Operations to L5 (Autonomous Network Operations)
  • Completely accountable for coveraging multiple sub functions of OSS Assurance
  1. Fault Management
  2. Performance And Capacity Management
  3. Service Management
  4. Change Management
  5. Test & Diagnostics
  6. Closed Loop Remediation
  • Accountable for defining path for System Rationalization (closure of Legacy systems) and work with Engineering Leads to deliver the same
  • Accountable for overall Software Systems estate, their exact purpose and the classification on EDR Hub
  • Accountable for clean stakeholder management with Enterprise and Network Architects and Service/transformation leads of Network Operations
  • Accountable for bringing more automations to achieve NOC Consolidations and Service Desk consolidations
  • Accountable for Telecom Standard adoptions into BT’s practices and also represent BT in standard forums to communicate BT’s best practices for the industry.

Required

A strategic leader and should have exhibited skills of leading Technical architecture, design and implementation of large scale telecom software projects.

  • Good understanding of Telecom OSS, must in the P&B, L2C and T2R domains
  • Network Skill Set: MPLS, Ethernet, SDWAN, NFVi, VNF/CNF, Mobile, Transmission, Voice, SIP
  • Domain Skill Set: Telemetry, SNMP Polling, SNMP Traps, Syslog, ITIL practices, TMF interfaces, SID, Netconf, YANG, YAML, GNMI
  • Technical Skill set :- Java , REST & SOAP WebServices, Spring Boot, SQL/NoSQL Database, Kafka, WebLogic, Grafana, Prometheus, Elastic Stack, AI/ML and K8s
  • Good to have - Understanding of BT product offerings like WBC, HE, MEAS, Mobile, Voice, Ethernet, MPLS, SD-WAN and BT Business Managed Services space.
  • Good exposure into handling complex problems and/or co-ordinating work which may extend beyond own area of expertise.
  • Proficient in TMF Standards and other standard bodies. Good to have prior experience on representing such standard forums.
  • Have good experience in Software Design and Development in the area of Java, Database and associated technologies
  • Be a subject expert and drive shared learning and collaboration.
  • Anticipates user needs, investigates the underlying causes and identifies short and long term solutions.
  • Capable of leading negotiations and building business cases for tech transformation.
  • Generates new and innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • A good balancer in terms of handling legacy as well as the latest trend applications.

Good To Have

  • 8+ years of experience in software architecture, design and delivery
  • 5+ years of experience in delivering large scale software solution delivery, preferably on the technical front, leading the technical design and implementation
  • 8+ years of in depth knowledge in OSS Assurance Domain encompassing some of the sub-functions like Fault, Performance, Service Management, Test& Diagnostics, Closed loop remediation, AI/ML, predictive assurance and Generative AI.
  • 5+ years of experience in Java, REST & SOAP WebServices, Spring Boot, SQL/NoSQL Database, Kafka, WebLogic, Swagger and K8s, DevSecOps, DevOps, CI/CD
  • 5+ years of moderate skills on assurance integration for various network technologies - MPLS, Ethernet, SDWAN, NFVi, VNF/CNF, Mobile, Transmission, Voice, SIP, Cloud and IT
