About the role

We are looking for a technically strong and experienced individual who is self-motivated so as to perform Technical consultant role for Orchestration & fulfilment stack in Openreach’s IT space. Candidate’s involvement will play an important role to ensure solutions and approaches are technically & architecturally correct & implemented with best of the tools available in market.
Candidate is supposed to coordinate and work with vendor teams across various locations, while performing his/ her roles and responsibilities.

What you’ll be doing

• Prepare technical specification document based on functional specifications document prepared by functional designer.
• Ability to understand how technology supports business and organization goals & accordingly propose and review solutions/ approaches using various technologies/ tools available in market, based on which the implementation very well fit within allotted budget and timelines.
• Regular review of various ongoing project implementations to ensure maximum efficiency and performance from the deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and procedures by ensuring timely review with Chief and platform architects.
• Build and maintain strong relationship with various stakeholders within BT Technology and Openreach through regular meetings and communications.
• Provide direction and guidance to internal teams on technology front.
• Regular upskilling of various technologies (as required for the role) by learning latest developments in the market.
• Conducting training sessions and seminars on various technologies and tools, for internal (within BT) and external (Vendor) teams.
• Come up with innovative and exciting ideas those can add value to business
• Coordinate and work with vendor teams across various locations, while performing his/ her roles and responsibilities.

The Skill You'll Need

Experience working across Waterfall and Agile methodology driven projects
• Experience working in complex projects & across different technologies.
• Self-starter who can lead the way by setting up prototypes for vendor technical teams to follow
• Contribute to the definition of the team processes and standards
• In depth understanding of Telecom product offering
• Possess excellent Telecom domain knowledge, to understand Openreach IT stack
• Possess typically demonstrable previous software engineering or related experience.
• Possess strong technology skills for following –
• Micro services driven architecture & associated tools (like Spring Boot Java, etc.)
• CICD DevOps framework and associated tools (Jenkins, ZUUL, GitLab, Subversion, Apache Maven, Junit, Docker, etc.)
• BPM framework and associated tools (Camunda)
• Ux wireframes Design (like Mockflow, Axure, etc.) and UI development tools (like Angular JS, etc.)
• Java, C++, HTML, CSS, etc.
• Provide technical and functional guidance and direction to team members
• Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience in working with geographically dispersed teams
