Working closely with senior leaders across the business, you’ll shape workforce strategies, translate demand into scalable talent solutions and continuously evolve our recruitment operating model. You’ll drive innovation through data, technology, automation and AI-enabled solutions, while ensuring candidates receive a market-leading experience that strengthens BT’s reputation as an employer of choice.

Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Director and sitting on the Talent Acquisition Leadership Team, you’ll lead a high-performing team and play a key role in shaping the future of volume recruitment at BT.

What you’ll be doing

Strategic Partnership & Workforce Planning:

•Partner with senior stakeholders to understand business priorities and translate workforce requirements into effective talent acquisition strategies.
•Shape workforce plans that enable business outcomes and create confidence in BT’s volume hiring strategy and delivery.
•Act as a trusted adviser, using data, insight and market intelligence to influence talent decisions.

Volume Recruitment Leadership:

•Lead volume recruitment delivery to meet hiring targets and business objectives at scale.
•Design and improve recruitment processes, operating models and assessment approaches that increase efficiency, conversion and hiring quality.
•Create exceptional candidate experiences that strengthen BT’s employer brand and generate advocacy.

Innovation & Transformation:

•Identify and implement technology, automation and AI-enabled solutions that improve efficiency, quality and experience.
•Partner with Employer Brand and external providers to build diverse, high-quality talent pipelines.
•Lead recruitment transformation initiatives and embed best practice across the volume hiring function.

Leadership & Team Development:

•Inspire, motivate and develop a geographically dispersed team across the UK and India, creating a culture of high performance, accountability and collaboration.
•Coach and develop leaders and team members to embody BT's behaviours, deliver exceptional service, think strategically and create positive outcomes for stakeholders and candidates.
•Act as a talent developer and internal mobility advocate, identifying and nurturing future talent for wider Talent Acquisition and People & Culture opportunities.

Essential Skills / Experience

•Proven experience leading high-volume recruitment within a large, complex organisation, including end-to-end process optimisation, attraction strategy, employer brand delivery and measurable hiring outcomes.
•Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience partnering with senior leaders, external suppliers and commercial partners to shape recruitment strategy and deliver business priorities.
•Strong capability in data-led decision-making, recruitment technology, automation and AI-enabled solutions, with experience leading teams through change, transformation and continuous improvement.

Desirable Skills / Experience

•Experience operating in global, offshore or shared-service recruitment environments, ideally supporting large-scale customer-facing, contact centre, retail, engineering or operational hiring programmes.
•Knowledge of workforce planning, talent forecasting, assessment design, selection methodologies and hiring effectiveness analysis.
•Experience implementing or scaling AI, automation or digital recruitment solutions, with strong external networks across talent acquisition, recruitment technology and employer branding communities.

BT Group is the UK’s leading communications group and the holding company behind some of the country’s most recognised brands – including BT, EE, Openreach and Plusnet. Our purpose is as simple as it is ambitious: we connect for good. Our customers include consumers, small, medium and large businesses, public sector organisations and other communications providers.

These behaviours unite us as one team to deliver for our colleagues, our customers, our stakeholders and the country.
