Why this job matters

This role aims to capitalise on market opportunities for our complex IP and/or Data Networking portfolio in a specific territory. The goal is to increase market share and customer revenues by leveraging specialist technical knowledge to expand existing customer spending into future revenue streams and attract new business. Understanding customer needs and aligning them with BT and Channel Strategy to transition to new IP and Data Networking products for our Mid-Market/Medium Channel is a key focus. You will collaborate closely with Account Managers, both in maintaining existing relationships and acquiring new ones. Additionally, advocating for BT Sales methodology will be essential to establish rapport and cultivate enduring relationships with customers, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor.

What you’ll be doing

• Achieve 100% or more of product set target aligned to territory using Sales methodology & sales plans.
• You lead the review, analysis and interpretation of sales trends across their applicable product pillars for ensuring the delivery of sales and commercial KPIs. You set up and implement the commercial levers that will drive and optimise these KPIs to maximise sales performance and take corrective actions.
• Maintain a high awareness and knowledge of the Mid-Market space, including industry, competitors and telecoms and internal activities (and guide others to do the same) to ensure that all business opportunities are identified, considered and implemented appropriately contributing to the wider Field Sales Strategy.
• Sales management & coaching capability with regard multiple to complex stakeholder management skills. Including: -
o Customer – inc C-level, varying customer size,
o BT – Specialist peers, Trading, Commercial, Customer Service & Order Management, Propositions, Product, Marketing.
o Technical knowledge on specific products & services
Be an exemplar for BT system usage and drive the right behaviours of SF.com usage.

The skills you’ll need

• Proven track record in Fixed Product IP/Cloud, Switch and Data Networks sales
• Demonstrative history of achieving sales targets
• Evidenced sales planning capability, including KPI’s used to drive outcomes
• Commercial thinker who uses internal/external insights for creating compelling customer propositions.
• Experience of working in a large Telco environment.
• Experience of selling complex Solutions to Mid – Market size customers
• Proven track record in an Acquisition B2B sales role
• Wider understanding of the IP and Network Market and its dynamics
• Understanding of sales methodologies

• Business acumen - Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organisational performance, commercial acumen and financial literacy (e.g. business KPIs, customer ROI, business cases)
• Planning & organisation - coordinate the sales specialists within BT to create new and maximise existing opportunities within BT.
• Collaboration skills - collaborate with Propositions & Product teams to provide win/loss feedback to ensure our products are developed to optimise market opportunity
