What I’ll be doing – your accountabilities

  • Procurement Strategies: Develop and implement strategies to optimize procurement activities across all BT units for all relevant categories.
  • Deliver Cost savings: Data driven approach to category management, build and align business cases, financial modelling to support RFx activity
  • RFx activity: Lead RFx activity end to end
  • Policy Implementation: Oversee the implementation of procurement policies and procedures.
  • Supplier Management: Manage key supplier relationships to ensure procurement excellence.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build & secure excellent & inclusive stakeholder engagement for procurement initiatives.
  • Operational Efficiency: Enhance operational efficiency through strategic procurement practices.

Skills required for the job

  • Strong Commercial, Finance related or accounting skills: Ability to build, understand and articulate complex pricing models.
  • Presentation Skills: Exceptional presentation skills to Exco/Senior leader level.
  • Negotiation skills, Possess excellent negotiation skills.
  • Strategic Procurement Leadership: Support the Senior Procurement Manager to drive the procurement strategy for the professional services categories ensuring alignment with BT’s strategic goals.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Maintain and strengthen senior-level relationships with key suppliers to ensure procurement excellence and value delivery.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong internal networks and ensure stakeholder buy-in for procurement initiatives.
  • Procurement Insight: Provide expert procurement insight to support strategic sourcing and procurement business partnering practices.

What you will be doing (Role Accountabilities)

As an Individual Contributor you will provide Procurement leadership & support to users of professional services in BT

You will ensure the procurement category strategy is built and aligned with business owners.

You will lead end to end on RFx activity to ensure best commercial value for BT

You will own the numbers, understanding & advising on the pricing structure and alternative pricing structure options if required

You will ensure all contract adherence is maintained to ensure timely agreements

You will ensure excellent oral and written communications & influencing skills with the capability to present up to Exco level

You will build and develop excellent relationships with your stakeholders

You should possess high level, demonstrable negotiation skills

What you’ll need to succeed (Skills & Experience)

  • Graduate / Postgraduate in Procurement/ Supply chain or Finance/Accounting
  • Preferably 7+ year’s relevant experience with a MNC
  • Highly Numerate/Good commercial modelling skills
  • Excellent Presentation & Interpersonal skills
  • Excellent Communication / Articulation skills
  • Ability to navigate large complex organisations
  • Straightforward, trustworthy
  • Able to work independently to resolve issues
  • Ability to work accurately to tight timeframes
  • Able to identify improvement opportunities and introduce these into the immediate work area and also across the wider team
  • Flexibility to work in Shifts
