Role Description

  • The successful candidate will join our global International Connectivity team, based in Budapest Hungary. This team support global procurement requirements for the BT International business unit.
  • This role will manage the B2B 3rd party Connectivity Network spend of the Americas region (Including United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and other large country markets, specific country responsibilities per individual will be decided during onboarding and aligned to experience and language skills)
    • Spend shall include Harmonized and non-harmonized access, ISP, Accommodation, Core and any other Telco related spend.
    • Managing the spend essentially involves being on top of the renewal dates, applying procurement levers to optimize the spend in every way possible be it negotiations, alternate products, alternate suppliers, etc.

What I’ll be doing – your accountabilities

Strategic

  • Support the development and execution of Americas regional procurement plans and sourcing activities in collaboration with global category leads, stakeholders and suppliers, and deliver those plans using the appropriate procurement processes and sourcing levers
  • Provide solutions for customer bids / contracts, while Building and maintaining customer lifecycle and procurement expertise including around local strategy and guidelines, local supplier knowledge and product life cycles.

Operational

  • Contract management of the Telco suppliers.
  • Strategic Bid Support and cost optimization.
  • Support new Product and supplier launches.
  • Assist with Service Delivery and Service Assurance for Telco products.
  • Lead contract/process, Governance and Compliance. What you deliver is important but how you deliver is equally important. You would be expected to ensure compliance with not only BT policies and guidelines but the local country policy and guidelines as well.
  • Being abreast of latest market developments and being able to use the latest best in class Digital/AI Procurement tools. Experience with Cirtuo, SAP Ariba, Suplari and Globality is advantageous.

Skills/experience required for the job

  • Someone that’s results orientated and driven, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience within a fast-paced Procurement/ Commercially focused business function.
  • 5-10 years experience within the Procurement function, with strong strategic and tactical procurement skills, and the ability to deliver value and results for BT.
  • Strong business knowledge in Telco Category, customer solutions, portfolio purchasing and in-country add-ons.
  • Strong language skills, with fluency in English and proficiency in one or more of the following: Spanish, Portuguese, or French.
  • Demonstrates a track record of effective decision-making capability to delivery against key metrics.
  • Effective relationship management skills & ability with stakeholders within a matrixed environment.
  • Ability to manage complex, strategic and commercial requirements between BT and Suppliers, deliver projects and results on time and in full.
