Job Description

Job Title – Network Specialist
Location - Hemel Hempstead

Salary - Competitive + 5k DV Bonus + 10% Employer Pension

Due to the sensitive nature of this role you will be required to hold DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

As one of our Technical Specialists, you will be taking the lead in a diverse, fast-paced, constantly evolving team. We use DevOps methodologies to deliver world class secure platforms that make a real difference to our customers. In this role, you will have devolved architectural and operational responsibility for a large subsection of the technology stack on one of our projects. You will have regular and direct customer communication, responding to their challenges while maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for managing your own work stack as part of a small team, making priority decisions in line with all relevant security, financial and HR considerations. You will work with your team to ensure your continued development and build a healthy, inclusive culture.

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide the technical direction for the build, delivery and maintenance of world class secure platforms.
  • Be hands-on in all aspects of the design, build, deployment and support of customer facing systems.
  • Employ and adapt industry-leading techniques and best practices to suit customer challenges.
  • Work within existing monitoring, observability and security frameworks to achieve our customer’s requirements.

You’ll definitely

  • Strong IP networking skills (CCNA/CCNP) for Juniper
  • A grasp of Transmission technology (L2) basics would be an advantage
  • Ability to produce design/build documentation, and follow/interpret complex installation/commissioning documents
  • Experience in use of IT Health check tools (nmap, vulnerability and compliance checking tools, etc. etc.)
  • Infrastructure skills (build, power, patching etc)

You might even

  • Have knowledge of containerisation/VM and some view of Kubernetes.
  • Have experience in Alcatel or Nokia management applications.
  • Have Windows Application Integration
  • Have SQL, Oracle database skills
