About the role

This job has a key focus on delivering commercial technical delivery outcomes whilst creating a culture of continuous development that nurtures a world class Technical Delivery Organisation. The purpose of this role is to be accountable for multiple small to medium sized technical deliveries.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the delivery of project(s), from planning and design through to deployment and implementation
  • Lead project governance throughout the project cycle, including support in creation and management of detailed project delivery plan and dependencies
  • Lead the virtual team in a way that meets all BT Leadership Framework accountabilities and BT Group values and leadership capabilities
  • Be accountable for ensuring the scope of delivery is understood, that the technical solution meets the business need and that plans are comprehensive
  • Identify pre-requisites to technical deliveries and ensure that they are delivered
  • Identify Risks/issues/finances/status/resources for technical deliveries and take corrective action where needed
  • Engage with clients and suppliers including internal stakeholders
  • Manage handover to operations and the customer
  • Make recommendations for improvements to processes. Identify and implement changes to improve quality and reduce costs

Essential Skills / Experience

  • In Depth knowledge of the Internal Networks and platforms supported.
  • Network Management: Good knowledge in Network Infrastructure and delivery.
  • Project Delivery experience (i.e. project leadership, responsibility, and accountability) across small and medium size projects with a good record of delivering
  • Good understanding of the systems and tools used within internal networks
  • Understanding of the product types available for connectivity and ability to place orders using BT systems.
  • Risks and Issues management, security processes, story management, and Architectural conformance process flow
  • Strong Customer Focus: Ability to interact with customer and senior managers at all levels with good presentation and communication skills.
  • Understanding of Cisco Hardware and configuration.
  • Good problem solver - drive to overcome obstacles and deliver innovative solutions
  • Excellent communication skills- able to work across a number of projects both inside and outside your team, presenting to senior leaders and stakeholders across BT, with ability to build rapport and influence

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • In Depth knowledge of Internal Networks and the platforms supported/managed
  • Excellent Technical Project Control – planning, dependencies, risk and issue management
  • Good financial understanding – ability to build estimates, gain commitments on cost from component teams and meet committed finance figures for the technical deliveries.
  • Excellent communication skills- able to work across a number of projects both inside and outside your team, presenting to senior leaders and stakeholders across BT, with ability to build rapport and influence.
  • Good problem solver - drive to overcome obstacles and deliver innovative solutions
